About this role

Job Title: Data Analyst Job Description
This entry-level data analyst role supports a large-scale terrain and environment project by processing shapefiles and library assets using established scripts, then submitting and validating files. After in-house training, you run provided scripts on existing files, collect and submit data, and move through assigned tasks with accuracy and consistency. The role may also contribute to creating damaged and destroyed model states and textures; experience with 3D tools and GIS software is helpful but not required, as training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Process large volumes of terrain and environment data by running established scripts on shapefiles and library assets.
- Follow structured workflow instructions to handle files, execute scripts, and complete assigned tasks accurately.
- Collect, organize, and submit processed data in accordance with project standards and timelines.
- Validate submitted files and check outputs for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Maintain careful attention to detail when reviewing data and terrain files to ensure quality and reliability.
- Support the creation of damaged and destroyed model states and textures as needed, following guidance and training.
- Use basic computer skills to navigate project tools, file systems, and documentation.
- Collaborate with in-house points of contact to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure smooth task progression.
- Apply in-house training to continuously improve speed, accuracy, and familiarity with scripts and workflows.
- Provide examples of prior work or a portfolio when requested to demonstrate relevant skills and experience.
Essential Skills
- Ability to process shapefiles and library assets using provided scripts after training.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to follow detailed workflow instructions.
- Capability to run scripts on existing files, collect data, submit results, and move through tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency when handling large volumes of terrain data.
- Ability to check and validate files as they are submitted to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Comfort working in a structured, repetitive task environment.
- Strong communication skills to follow guidance from in-house points of contact and ask clarifying questions when needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Entry-level, trainable role; a degree is not required if you can demonstrate relevant work and interview effectively.
- Experience with 3D tools such as Maya or 3ds Max is a plus but not required.
- Experience with graphics tools such as Photoshop is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Perforce is a plus but not required.
- Experience using issue-tracking tools such as Jira is a plus but not required.
- GIS experience, particularly with ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap, is a plus but not required.
- A portfolio or examples of prior work in 3D, graphics, GIS, or related areas are helpful and strongly encouraged.
Work Environment
This role is planned as on-site work, initially in St. Louis, with the possibility of using another company training-center location under consideration. The environment is structured and process-driven: after brief in-house training, you will run scripts on files, submit results, validate outputs, and move to the next assigned task in a repetitive, production-style workflow. You work alongside a team of consultants, with multiple in-house points of contact available to provide guidance, answer questions, and support your development. The work primarily involves computer-based tasks using scripting workflows, terrain data, and potentially tools such as 3D software, graphics applications, and GIS platforms, depending on project needs and your skills.
