The Golang Cloud Platform Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and evolving cloud-native software platforms that power network management, automation, observability, and operational support systems for a carrier-grade low Earth orbit satellite network. This role focuses on building scalable distributed systems using Go, Kubernetes, and modern cloud-native technologies while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate innovation and software delivery. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled Go engineer with deep experience building microservices-based applications, deploying solutions in Kubernetes environments, and utilizing AI-powered development tools such as Codex, Claude, Qodo, or similar platforms to improve productivity and code quality.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and distributed systems using Golang .
- Build and evolve cloud-native NMS and OSS platforms supporting network automation, telemetry, observability, service assurance, and operational workflows.
- Design and implement microservices architectures deployed and managed through Kubernetes and container-based platforms.
- Develop scalable APIs, event-driven services, and automation frameworks that integrate with network infrastructure, orchestration platforms, and operational systems.
- Utilize modern network management technologies including NETCONF, RESTCONF, gNMI, gRPC, and telemetry frameworks to enable automation and observability.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Codex, Claude, Qodo, GitHub Copilot, and similar technologies to improve engineering efficiency, code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and deployment automation.
- Contribute to software architecture and technical strategy for highly available, cloud-native distributed systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across application, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and networking layers.
- Collaborate with platform, network, and operations teams to improve system reliability, scalability, and automation capabilities.

Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience with at least 2+ years developing production applications in Golang.
- Strong expertise building and maintaining distributed systems, microservices, and API-driven platforms using Go .
- Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes , containerization, and cloud-native application development.
- Experience deploying and operating applications in public or private cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent cloud-native platforms.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, concurrency, asynchronous processing, distributed systems patterns, and performance optimization.
- Experience designing REST APIs, gRPC services, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps workflows.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, routing, telemetry, and network observability.
- Experience integrating with network management, OSS, automation, or infrastructure management systems.

- Experience with telecommunications, satellite communications, network management systems (NMS), EMS, or OSS platforms.
- Experience with observability technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Elasticsearch, or similar monitoring ecosystems.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across software, cloud infrastructure, and networking domains.
- Experience working in highly scalable, mission-critical production environments.
Work Environment This role is based primarily on-site, with four days per week in the office and one day (Wednesdays) working from home. The schedule offers flexible arrival and departure times within reasonable limits to help accommodate traffic and personal needs. You will work in a modern engineering environment focused on large-scale space and telecommunications programs, using technologies such as Go, Python, C++, Kubernetes, CI/CD tooling, and advanced NMS/OSS platforms. The culture emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and long-term project stability, providing the opportunity to contribute to one of the largest space programs in Canadian history and to engage in extended consulting work for those interested.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
