Job Purpose
Lead supplier quality and development activities for a specific value stream by strengthening supplier partnerships, driving preventive and improvement initiatives, managing strategic risks, and supporting the resolution of critical systemic issues across the supply chain
Job Description
- Lead/Responsible for Supplier Qualification, Audits, onboarding and overall supplier development activities.
- Superior understanding of Supply Chain management and application of improvement tools.
- Collaborate with Sourcing teams relating to develop sourcing strategies and strategic initiatives within the Value Stream.
- Lead improvements/PMT on complex and systemic quality events.
- Responsible for prevention activities (prevention-based process verification, etc.)
- Manage a team of Supplier Development Leads/Engineers.
- Responsible/collaborate with risk managers, projects, execution team to identify and manage risks through process improvements, lessons learned and other prevention activities.
- Collaborate with Projects/Execution teams on supplier development activities.
Work Environment:
Supplier sites, customer sites/meetings, and/or the manufacturing shop. May be exposed to possible shop or lab hazards including high noise and heavy equipment when in those work areas. Travel as necessary visiting FMC regional offices, plants and makes visits to existing and potential vendor’s facilities as required.
Physical Demands:
Frequent sitting and operating a computer and walking within a shop environment. Fast paced atmosphere with multiple priorities and constant change. Some travel for vendor and/or client contact.
You are meant for this job if:
- BS or MS in engineering/technical or equivalent recognition in a technical or quality field
- 10+ years in overall Supply Chain or in Engineering experiences
- Fundamental understanding of foundational quality principles
- Advanced knowledge of various root cause analysis tools (fishbone, 5 Whys, etc.)Team player, develop and nurture environment for everyone to succeed
- Inspire trust with peers and senior leaders through appropriate communication and actions to build consensus around recommended Supply Chain strategies
- Ability to navigate and manage ambiguity in a changing business context
- Communication & Managerial skills
- Able to evaluate the best utilization of various core manufacturing processes such as fabrications, machining, forging, welding/NDE, and/or OEM products and work with suppliers to provide suggestion/improvement
