Job Title: Senior Interior Designer Job Description
Our client seeks a Senior Interior Designer to lead project interiors from concept through construction, shaping and growing the interior design practice. This role involves managing client relationships, mentoring staff, and expanding interior design services across a diverse portfolio including education, hospitality, retail, commercial office, healthcare, and behavioral health.
Responsibilities
- Lead interior design efforts from concept through construction administration.
- Manage FF&E selections, specifications, and procurement coordination.
- Produce and oversee construction documentation.
- Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, manufacturers, and architectural staff.
- Coordinate and maintain materials and finishes library.
- Develop creative and thoughtful design solutions.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Conduct programming, space planning, finish selections, and furniture specification activities.
- Mentor junior designers and support team development.
- Represent the firm within professional organizations and industry associations.
- Help grow and expand the firm's interior design practice through client engagement and business development activities.
Essential Skills
- 7+ years of professional interior design experience.
- Degree from a CIDA-accredited Interior Design program or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Strong knowledge of interior architecture, space planning, finish selections, furnishings, and construction documentation.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, organization, and client-facing skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- NCIDQ certification or active pursuit preferred.
- AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Experience with rendering platforms preferred.
- Experience mentoring less experienced designers.
- Business development experience.
- Existing relationships within the Portland design community.
- Participation in IIDA, ASID, CREW, CoreNet, or AIA-affiliated events.
Work Environment
The position offers a hybrid work environment with a strong collaborative studio culture. The majority of time will be spent in the studio, collaborating with architects and designers. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
