Job Summary

The Construction Project Coordinator will provide assistance on multiple development and constructions projects. Will be responsible in managing contract bids and evaluate progress of the project including reviewing and assessing project estimates, supplies and labor.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, relevant discipline preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:  (None)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

- Minimum two (2) years' of experience or completion of an internship (equivalent of 2 summers) for project management, preferably in general contracting, architecture/engineering design and/or construction management.
- Experience and exposure to all facets of general contracting and construction management fields, including contract negotiations and administration, project scope evaluations, estimating, budget forecasting and scheduling
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction materials and methods, specifications, read construction drawings and documents
- Ability to negotiate the purchasing of equipment, supplies and materials
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project Management Databases, CAD, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Principal Accountabilities

- Planning budgets, negotiating with subcontractors and supervising them at job sites, ordering supply and maintaining safe and clean job sites.
- Tracking, filing, and monitoring of required submittals from the contractor and their subcontractors including insurance certificates, schedules, safety documents, technical submittals, invoices, and correspondence.
- Tracking, filing, and logging of incoming and outgoing Requests for Information (RFI) and documenting responses as assigned.
- Maintaining a field order log and processing field order write-ups and associated paperwork to authorize contractor work scope changes.
- Tracking invoices and payments to vendors.
- Attends project meetings and staff meetings as needed.
- Coordinates/ facilitates contract close-out requirements.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
