Job Summary
•The Data Analyst – Trade Compliance Assurance serves as the analytics and data enablement lead for the Trade Compliance Assurance function. This role is responsible for leveraging enterprise data, analytics, automation, and reporting capabilities to strengthen the effectiveness of the Trade Compliance Internal Control Program, enhance risk visibility, and support continuous monitoring initiatives.

The role will play a key part in advancing the Trade Compliance Assurance program from traditional periodic assessments to a more data-driven, continuous-monitoring approach by increasing the use of analytics, automation, and risk intelligence across the organization. This includes supporting the design and enhancement of monitoring mechanisms that provide insight into control performance, identify recurring errors and trends, and drive continuous improvement of the Trade Compliance control environment.

Responsibilities

Data Analytics & Insights

- Analyze operational data to identify errors, anomalies, trends, and emerging risks, and develop analytical models and exception reporting that enable proactive issue detection, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of trade-related internal controls.
- Deliver actionable insights that support risk-based decision-making and continuous improvement.

Continuous Monitoring & Internal Controls

- Design and maintain analytics-driven monitoring of key Trade Compliance controls.
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, KRIs, and key control indicators (KCIs) to measure control effectiveness and compliance performance.
- Identify control exceptions, recurring issues, and opportunities to strengthen the internal control environment.

Data Management & Reporting

- Leverage enterprise data sources, including FDL, to create scalable reporting and monitoring solutions.
- Apply data modeling, database, and data quality principles to ensure reliable and accurate analytics.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and management reporting.

Automation & Process Improvement

- Automate reporting, monitoring, and exception detection processes to increase efficiency and coverage.
- Implement analytics and workflow solutions that reduce manual effort and improve data-driven oversight.

Stakeholder Collaboration

- Partner with Assurance, control owners, business teams, and IT to deliver analytical solutions.
- Translate business requirements into data-driven insights and technical solutions.
- Promote adoption of analytics and continuous monitoring practices across the Trade Compliance organization.

Education & Experience Recommended

- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
- 8+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data management, or related analytical functions.
- Experience working with enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, and large-scale transactional datasets.
- Strong experience leveraging FDL and other enterprise data repositories to develop reporting, monitoring, and analytical solutions.
- Demonstrated understanding of database structures, relational database concepts, data modeling, data architecture, and data governance principles.
- Experience developing dashboards, scorecards, and visualization solutions using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries and working with complex data relationships across multiple systems.
- Experience implementing data quality controls, data validation, reconciliation, and data integrity checks.
- Experience automating reporting, monitoring, or business processes using Power Automate, Python, or similar technologies.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable analytics solutions and actionable insights.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience partnering across business, technical, and operational teams.

Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)

- Experience supporting Internal Audit, Assurance, Risk Management, Compliance, or Governance organizations.
- Familiarity with continuous monitoring, internal controls, control testing, or risk analytics.
- Experience analyzing ERP data, including SAP S/4HANA or similar enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of Trade Compliance, Customs, Export Controls, or other regulatory environments.
- Experience developing exception-based monitoring, anomaly detection, or risk intelligence solutions.

Leverages enterprise data sources, including FDL, to enable scalable monitoring and actionable insights across global Trade Compliance operations.

The role requires the ability to understand business processes, data structures, internal controls, and reporting requirements; integrate data from various platforms, including FDL; and translate complex business challenges into scalable analytics, monitoring, and automation solutions.
