Role
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading the HR operations of the property. This role will act as a strategic and operational HR business partner to the property leadership team.
The role is heavily focused on operational excellence, compliance, risk management and data integrity, ensuring the foundations of HR are consistently delivered to a high standard. In parallel, the role ensures the business is equipped with the right talent, structure, and capability to deliver exceptional service, in line with brand expectations.
The Director of Human Resources will plan, direct, manage, and oversee the activities and operations of the Human Resources Department including talent management, labor relations, compensation & benefits, and training; to coordinate assigned activities with other departments.
Responsibilities
Business Partnering and Leadership
- Act as the lead HR Business Partner to the General Manager and Executive Committee, contributing to both strategic and operational decision-making.
HR Operations
- Oversee all HR operations at the property, ensuring policies, procedures, and standards are effectively implemented and continuously improved.
- Manage the full colleague lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding.
- Lead employee relations matters, ensuring outcomes are fair, legally compliant, and aligned with business needs.
HR Systems, Data & Workday Ownership
- Oversee all HR system processes including payroll data, personal records, attendance, and reporting.
Talent & Workforce Planning
- Ensure the right structure, headcount, and talent are in place to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Learning, Development & Quality
- Oversee the Learning & Development and quality agenda at the property.
Employee Engagement & Communications
- Lead employee communication across the property, ensuring clear alignment with business priorities, culture, and values.
- Ensure all grievance and disciplinary procedures are handled consistently and appropriately.
Compensation & Benefits
- Ensure compensation and benefits are competitive and aligned with the luxury market.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, at least 2 - 3 years in luxury hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, principles, and employment laws.
- Proficiency with HR Systems: ADP, Workday, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills,
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when required.
