Basic Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of engineering technology. Engineering Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Co-op Position Objectives
What you’ll experience:
- Requirements Development: Support the translation of high-level assembly requirements and concepts into clear, implementable, and testable hardware requirements under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Hardware Design and Prototyping: Participate in the design, development, and prototyping of hardware items from subsystem concepts.
- Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and subject matter experts to learn design processes, resolve technical challenges, and contribute to project objectives.
- Hardware Testing: Assist in developing, documenting, and executing verification test procedures for standalone hardware items. Analyze test data and help communicate results.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve hardware performance, manufacturability, usability, or test processes. Explore responsible applications of AI to improve engineering efficiency and innovation.
What you bring to the table:
- Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Technical Curiosity: Interest in hardware design, requirements development, prototyping, integration, and test.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to approach technical problems methodically, interpret data, and develop practical solutions.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, and other team members in a hands-on environment.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document work clearly and ask thoughtful questions.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn new tools, processes, and technologies while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
What sets you apart:
- Coursework, projects, lab experience, or personal projects involving electronics, mechanical assemblies, embedded systems, test equipment, CAD, or hardware prototyping.
- Experience with test planning, data analysis, technical documentation, or root-cause investigation.
- A proactive, innovative mindset and interest in improving product quality, manufacturability, or usability.
- Familiarity with AI tools and an interest in identifying opportunities to apply AI responsibly to engineering and continuous-improvement activities.

## Combined Salary Range
USD $22.00 - USD $29.25 /Yr.
