Position Overview:
The Sanitation Supervisor is expected to ensure that all prescribed sanitation practices and procedures within the plant are followed, facilitating a clean and food-safe environment for production. The role will ensure that the correct cleaning and sanitation standards are adhered to in a number of plant locations and will train and supervise the work of other staff members as necessary to maintain standards.
The qualified individual should have previous experience of working in sanitation and should have knowledge of the chemicals and processes used in the food production industry. The individual should have the ability to provide guidance and training to team members. Strong organizational and communication skills are critical to this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the third party vendor sanitation functions.
Manage the day-to-day activities of the sanitation team.
Ensure that all equipment at the assigned facilities is clean and ready for the next days production run.
Ensure that staff members follow all applicable Monogram policies.
Ensure that the proper chemicals and concentrations are being used.
Ensure that all necessary paperwork is filled out correctly.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred Education: Completion of some college coursework is preferred.
Preferred Experience: Three or more years of experience working in the sanitation department of a food manufacturing company. Experience in performing basic equipment repairs is preferred.
Competencies and Skills:
Valid current drivers license is required.
Knowledge of the chemicals used in sanitation.
Ability to develop SSOPs.
Effective time management and multi-tasking skills.
Good leadership and delegation skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in using a variety of computer software, including Microsoft Office.
Good attention to detail and administrative skills.
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
Ability to stand and move about the plant for prolonged periods.
Ability to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting items of up to 50 lbs. unassisted, bending, standing, climbing or walking.
Visual and hearing acuity.
Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:
Generally, will work in an office environment, but may also work on the production floor.
Will be required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment.
May be exposed to loud noises on the production floor.
May, on rare occasions, be exposed to humid conditions, extreme temperatures, oils, airborne particles, and chemicals.
May, on rare occasions, be exposed to the risk of electric shock.
