The Bioinformatics Specialist supports translational and immuno-oncology research through the application of computational biology, bioinformatics, and statistical analysis methods. This position performs advanced analyses of high-dimensional genomic, transcriptomic, and single-cell sequencing datasets, develops analytical workflows, and collaborates with laboratory investigators to generate biological insights that support cancer research objectives. The incumbent serves as a key analytical resource within multidisciplinary research teams and contributes to publications, grant applications, and scientific presentations.

Required Qualifications

- Master's degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Data Science, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, or a related discipline.
- Experience analyzing large-scale biological datasets.
- Proficiency in R and Python.
- Knowledge of bioinformatics methodologies for next-generation sequencing data analysis.
- Experience with statistical modeling and data visualization techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with single-cell RNA sequencing analysis.
- Experience with Seurat, Monocle3, SCENIC, miloR, and related bioinformatics tools.
- Experience analyzing immunology, oncology, or translational research datasets.
- Experience with machine learning approaches including Random Forest, Support Vector Machines, deep learning, and predictive modeling.
- Experience contributing to peer-reviewed publications.
- Familiarity with cloud computing, Linux environments, and high-performance computing platforms.
