About this role

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Individual Contributor to play a key role within our Front Office Systems group, with a primary focus on the firm’s trading technology ecosystem. This role is intended for a highly experienced professional who combines deep asset management trading domain knowledge, strong technical and architectural expertise, and the ability to lead complex initiatives from strategy through execution.

The successful candidate will help define and drive the technology strategy and roadmap for trading systems, lead business analysis for complex cross-functional initiatives, provide system and data architecture leadership, establish canonical patterns for trading and investment data, and identify and selectively deliver high-value AI-enabled capabilities.

This individual will also be expected to contribute directly to development and implementation efforts as needed.

This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the Head of Front Office Systems, requiring strong influence, sound judgment, innovation, and the ability to work effectively across trading, portfolio management, compliance, operations, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities :

Technology Strategy and Roadmap

- Define, influence and evolve the target-state strategy for the firm’s trading technology platform in alignment with business priorities and enterprise architecture direction.
- Lead the development and ongoing refinement of multi-year roadmaps across trading capabilities, including order management, execution management, broker and venue connectivity, electronic trading, trading analytics, controls, and post-trade integration.
- Identify opportunities to simplify the trading technology landscape, improve platform interoperability as well as enhance scalability, resilience, and supportability.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and architectural approaches to improve business outcomes and accelerate delivery.

Business Analysis and Solution Design

- Lead business and solution analysis for complex trading initiatives spanning traders, portfolio managers, compliance, operations, and technology teams.
- Translate business needs and workflow requirements into clear solution designs, implementation plans, and target-state capabilities.
- Clarify dependencies, trade-offs, and sequencing across interconnected systems and initiatives.
- Support decision-making by framing problems, evaluating options, and recommending pragmatic solutions.

System and Data Architecture

- Provide architectural leadership across the trading technology ecosystem, including OMS, EMS, execution workflows, integration layers, and downstream trade processing.
- Define and promote architectural standards and patterns for trading applications, interfaces, workflows, and real-time/event-driven integration.
- Collaborate with other teams on the design and standardization of canonical data models and patterns for key trading domains, including: orders and order lifecycle events

- Ensure solutions are designed with appropriate attention to performance, data quality, lineage, controls, maintainability, and operational support.

AI Enablement and Selective AI Delivery

- Shape and govern the approach to AI enablement within trading technology, with emphasis on practical, high-value use cases.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI to trader workflows, exception handling, decision support, analytics, knowledge access, and software delivery productivity.
- Partner with business and engineering teams to selectively design and deliver AI-enabled capabilities where there are clear use cases and measurable value.
- Establish patterns and guardrails for the responsible use of AI, including appropriate use, data quality, controls and model risk.

Hands-On Technical Contribution

- Contribute directly to design, prototyping, development, troubleshooting, and implementation of critical initiatives as needed.
- Provide senior technical guidance on software design, integration patterns, data flows, APIs, event-driven systems, and platform modernization.
- Support teams in resolving complex technical challenges and improving application quality and delivery effectiveness.
- Act as a trusted senior technical leader who can move between strategic planning and detailed execution.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, finance, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in asset management trading technology or closely related front office technology environments.
- Deep knowledge of trading workflows and systems, including order management, execution management, allocations, trade lifecycle processing, and trading controls.
- Proven experience in technology strategy, architecture, and roadmap development in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong background in business analysis, solution design, and delivery for large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
- Significant experience in system and data architecture, including design of canonical models and integration patterns for trading and investment data.
- Strong technical skills and the ability to contribute hands-on to development or design efforts when needed.
- Experience evaluating and applying AI/ML and generative AI capabilities in a practical business and technology context.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior business and technology leaders.

- Familiarity with front office workflows spanning trading, portfolio management, compliance, and operations.
- Strong understanding of software engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, observability, and production support considerations is an asset.
- Experience with OMS/EMS platforms, broker connectivity, FIX and related messaging patterns, market data integration, and electronic trading workflows is desired.
- Experience with modern architecture patterns, including APIs, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, cloud-based services, and enterprise data platforms is preferred.
- Understanding of data governance, lineage, metadata, and controls in a regulated financial services environment is an asset.
- Experience developing prototypes or production capabilities involving AI assistants, workflow automation, analytics support, knowledge retrieval, or developer productivity tooling is a plus.

The base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $325,000 per year.
