Responsibilities

Advisory, Partnership & Client Experience

- Serve as a trusted advisor to UHNW clients, Family Offices, entrepreneurs, and family enterprises, guiding them through complex estate planning, business succession, and philanthropic decision-making processes.
- Partner across the firm with Private Client Advisors, Relationship Managers, and product specialists to develop and deliver integrated wealth planning solutions tailored to each client's unique objectives and circumstances.
- Provide advanced consultative guidance on sophisticated estate planning strategies, trust structures, business succession planning, and philanthropic giving aligned with clients' long-term goals.
- Facilitate seamless client transitions and continuity of advisory relationships, ensuring clear communication and coordinated support from prospect engagement through ongoing relationship management.
- Collaborate with internal legal, tax, credit, and investment teams to synthesize complex financial, legal, and planning considerations into actionable client strategies.
- Manage the client advisory journey from initial engagement through proposal development, implementation, and ongoing support—ensuring a cohesive and high-touch experience throughout.

Wealth Planning & Legal Advisory

- Provide advanced consultative guidance on estate planning, trust administration, philanthropic strategies, and business succession goals for UHNW clients and Family Offices.
- Review and interpret complex trust and estate documents; field questions surrounding trust and estate administration for clients and internal partners.
- Collaborate with internal legal, tax, and advisory teams to deliver integrated, comprehensive wealth planning solutions.
- Surface and escalate complex legal and planning issues to appropriate stakeholders, ensuring sound risk decisions aligned with the firm's compliance and regulatory standards.

Relationship Collaboration

- Interact, negotiate, and influence at senior levels of the organization as well as with high-profile clients to advance business development and client satisfaction goals.
- Represent the firm in related trust, estate and tax related business associations or events to strengthen brand presence and expand professional networks.
- Stay current on business, cultural, economic, and legal trends within the UHNW community to maintain credibility and relevance with prospects and clients.

Risk Management & Compliance

- Make sound risk decisions aligned with the business unit's risk appetite and applicable regulatory standards.
- Surface issues and provide feedback to corporate leadership to support continuous improvement in UHNW sales strategy and execution.

Qualifications

Required

- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school; active license to practice law in Texas and eligible to practice in-house.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience representing clients on sophisticated estate planning, trust administration, and private wealth matters.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and influence at senior organizational levels and with high-profile, UHNW clients.
- Advanced consultative skills across estate planning, philanthropic giving, and business succession strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with prospects, internal partners, senior leadership, and UHNW families and Family Offices.

Preferred

- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field in addition to JD.
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Luminary.
- Familiarity with cross-border wealth planning, international tax considerations, and Family Office structures.
