Position Summary:
The Customer Core Integration Delivery Lead is the accountable Xcel Energy leader for integration delivery across the program. This role owns both halves of the integration picture: the SAP integrations built on BTP, and the integration and application remediation required for edge systems that connect to the new CIS.
The Director of Transformation Technology Delivery is responsible for leading the day-to-day execution of technology delivery within major transformation programs. The role oversees planning, coordination, and delivery across multiple technology domains, ensuring that solutions are built, tested, and deployed in alignment with program objectives, regulatory timelines, and enterprise standards.
This position partners closely with IT operations, business readiness, change management, architecture, PMO, and vendor teams to ensure integrated delivery and successful transition to ongoing support. The Director provides both strategic and tactical leadership across delivery teams, manages program risks and issues, and ensures value realization through disciplined execution and effective stakeholder engagement.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Partner with integration architects to apply the approved integration strategy, ISA-M patterns and clean-core principles, and make sure every interface has a clear pattern decision (application-to-application, B2B, API-managed or event-driven).
- Drive integration monitoring, error handling and alerting standards so that interfaces are operable on day one, not just functional.
- Lead delivery of integration and application remediation for retained edge applications.
- Coordinate remediation across enterprise middleware and API platforms, including ACE/APIC, SeeBurger, MFT, IICS, and customer APIs on Apigee and AWS services.
- Plan and govern integration shutdown and recommissioning for edge applications scheduled for retirement once the new CIS becomes the system of record.
- Build and maintain an integrated integration delivery plan that aligns BTP and edge work to the program release roadmap, test cycles, freeze periods and customer experience protection windows.
- Hold the system integrator and vendors accountable for scope, quality, schedule and estimates; review deliverables and resolve escalations.
- Own integration risks, issues, dependencies and decisions, and report status, readiness and trade-offs clearly to program and IT leadership.
- Coordinate closely with architecture, data conversion, testing, security, infrastructure and network teams, and with business process owners.
- Develop and mentor Xcel Energy integration staff and contractors so that integration capability remains in-house after go-live.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience in IT program delivery, systems implementation, technology operations, or utility-focused IT roles with minimum 5 years of leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale or multi-tower technology initiatives.
- Strong understanding of integrated utility systems, modernization, and cross-platform delivery practices.
- Proven ability to manage both internal and vendor delivery teams in a matrixed environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to resolve issues in complex, fast-moving program environments.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to translate delivery needs for business partners.
Preferred Requirements:
- Hands-on delivery experience with API management and event-driven patterns.
- Working knowledge of enterprise middleware and API platforms such as IBM ACE/APIC, Apigee, AWS integration services, MFT and B2B/EDI tools.
- Proven ability to manage system integrator and vendor delivery, including scope, estimates, quality gates and escalations.
- Clear, direct communication with both technical teams and senior leaders.
- Utility industry experience, particularly with meter-to-cash processes and applications.
