About this role

Work Shift:
Day - 8 Hour (United States of America)Responsible for performing in a supervisory role of the department acting as the senior trainer, making recommendations to the Directors team that will enhance department. Assist Directors team in promoting the safe, efficient and continuous operation of the facilities within Houston Medical Center, Houston Health Pavilion and other Houston Healthcare owned facilities as designated. Aides in compliant measures for hospital accreditation (DNV) and local authority codes and requirements. Supervising building and grounds mechanics, on a daily basis, as well as time and attendance and annual evaluations on said workers. Responsible for disciplinary action on said employees. Coordinates contracted services for buildings and grounds related items. Available to assist via phone if information and assistance is needed.

Qualifications:

Education & Training: High School graduate or GED equivalent.

Experience: Five (5) years’ experience in facilities maintenance environment. Experience in mechanical, building and electrical trades. Combination of work history and experience can be substituted to meet minimum requirements.

Required Certification/Registration/Licensure: Valid Georgia driver’s license. Acceptable MVR history to meet and maintain insurance requirements must be met to drive HHC vehicles. CPI training within 9 months of hire.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must have knowledge of, or be able to use, a variety of mechanical equipment to include grinder, drill press, pressure washer, generator, band saw, power and hand tools, hospital vehicles, and some medical equipment. Considerable knowledge of state and local codes and DNV and NFPA standards; hazards and applicable safety precautions of engineering trades. Should also have knowledge of computer and associated programs. Must be able to facilitate project completion and work within assigned deadlines. Effective communication and decision-making skills are required.
