Are you passionate about supporting victim-survivors of family violence to find safety, stability and hope? We're seeking a compassionate and experienced Specialist Family Violence Practitioner - Brief Intervention to join our dedicated Family Violence team.
About the role
In this rewarding role as a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner , you'll provide crisis intervention, brief support, outreach and case planning for adults and children impacted by family violence. Working across Rapid Response and Case Management functions, you'll support individuals experiencing complex challenges including housing instability, mental health concerns and AOD issues, helping them navigate pathways to safety, recovery and longer-term support.
Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a fixed-term full-time position, contracted until June 2028, based on-site in Windsor, VIC.
Conditions
Compensation is in accordance with Social, Community Services, Home Care and Disability Services Award (SCHADS) Level 5.
How you will make an impact
- Delivering high-quality crisis responses and brief interventions to victim-survivors of family violence
- Conducting risk assessments, safety planning and service planning
- Providing outreach support in the community and emergency accommodation settings
- Responding to referrals from The Orange Door, Safe Steps and other referral pathways
- Managing a small, complex caseload with a focus on stabilisation and recovery
- Advocating for clients and connecting them with housing, health and community supports
- Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
You will be an empathetic, resilient and skilled practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to empowering victim-survivors.
What you will bring
· An AQF Level 7 qualification (or higher) in family violence or a related discipline, or be actively working towards completion
· Qualifications aligned with the Mandatory Minimum Qualification Requirements for Specialist Family Violence Practitioners (Recommendation 209)
· Experience in family violence, community services, child wellbeing or related sectors (highly regarded)
- Strong risk assessment, case management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and victim-survivor-centred practice
- Exceptional communication, organisation and time management abilities
- Experience supporting people with complex and intersecting needs
- Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills
- Advanced computer skills including data and record management
- A Current Employee Working with Children Check
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence
