An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Data Engineer to join a highly respected Customer Strategy & Analytics team based in Singapore. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on transforming business strategies into actionable data solutions and enjoys working at the intersection of technology and business. You will play a pivotal part in supporting and delivering Financial Planning Data Products. The role will report into the head of business intelligence and analytics based in Australia.

What you'll do:
As an Associate Data Engineer, you will immerse yourself in a dynamic environment where your expertise in building robust data pipelines will be crucial to integrating information from multiple sources into the APAC Datawarehouse. Your day-to-day activities will involve translating strategic objectives into actionable technical solutions that enhance financial planning capabilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams ranging from technology specialists to senior business leaders to ensure that all aspects of data management meet rigorous standards of quality and compliance. By implementing automation backlogs and transforming raw datasets into meaningful insights through ETL processes, you will help streamline operations while maintaining meticulous documentation of current and future workflows. Your ability to act as a trusted steward for financial planning data will be instrumental in driving operational excellence across the division.
- Translate complex business strategies into practical data management approaches tailored to specific domains within the organisation.
- Manage new data initiatives by defining business cases, gathering requirements, tracking progress, and prioritising projects to ensure timely delivery.
- Establish standards for data governance across the Asia Pacific corporate banking division, ensuring consistency and compliance throughout all processes.
- Oversee access permissions by developing robust plans, monitoring data distribution, approving provisioning requests, and acting as the subject matter expert for domain-specific data.
- Negotiate Data Service Agreements while ensuring all data access complies with internal standards and regulatory controls.
- Identify official sources of critical data, validate business definitions for key elements, and review technical metadata to maintain accuracy and integrity.
- Implement changes to metadata as needed by updating business definitions and ensuring alignment with evolving organisational needs.
- Define comprehensive business rules for managing domain-specific data and oversee remediation plans for any identified issues or quality concerns.
- Collaborate extensively with technology teams, system owners, operations staff, and senior management to ensure seamless end-to-end data flow and accurate reporting outcomes
- Design, develop, and deploy efficient data pipelines using Alteryx or similar tools to integrate diverse datasets into the APAC Datawarehouse while automating repetitive tasks for greater efficiency.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance or equivalent qualification is required for this position.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking or consultancy environments with a focus on data management and reporting is essential.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Alteryx for designing scalable data pipelines alongside hands-on experience with Tableau, Power BI, Power Apps, and ETL processes is necessary.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills are vital as you will need to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior stakeholders across regions.
- Proven project management leadership abilities are required to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously under strict timelines.
- A deep understanding of relevant data sources, transformation rules, reconciliation techniques across disparate systems is expected from ideal candidates.
- Experience managing metadata changes including reviewing lineage documentation and validating business definitions is highly valued.
- The ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications ensures successful project outcomes.
