About this role

Job Purpose:

This position is a fixed term contract for a period of 4 months and will end on 31 January 2027. Reporting into the Planning Manager, the incumbent of this position will be required to draw up master schedules to establish sequence and lead times of production to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders.

Your mission:

• Daily planning and scheduling of PM31 (Paper Machine 31)
• Monitoring and reporting on performance on PM31
• Assisting with the scheduling of stock to be re-reeled on the re-reeler
• Upkeep Master Data and BOMs
• Attend Operational meetings daily
• Planning deckle efficiency of reels to optimize deckle and material efficiency
• Liaising with production and sales on order book requirements
• Balancing demand vs supply
• Main touch point between sales/Customer Service Co - Ordinator and Production
• Taking weekend and after hour calls from Production as and when required.
• Liaise with the vendor to stay informed on the M-Files product roadmap and new AI-driven capabilities

Your profile:

• Matric
• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain
• Minimum 3 years production planning experience
• Previous experience with planning tools (e.g. voyager, apo, ERP)
• Experience with SAP (Master Data and BOMs)
• Experience with Excel(advanced)
• Excellent numeracy and math skills
• Experience as a Production Planner within Pulp & Paper industry will be advantageous
