We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as AVP, Insurance Advisory Engagement & Insurance Solutions (Internal Job Title: Product Specialist - C12) based in Hong Kong. In this role, you’re expected to:
The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Insurance Advisory Engagement & Insurance Solutions is a strategic and execution-oriented role embedded within the Hong Kong Insurance Product Team. This role bridges product manufacturing, insurance partners, and frontline sales distribution across retail banking, wealth management, and relationship manager channels.
The primary mandate is twofold:
- Frontline & Advisory Management (Seller Pulse & Motivation): Act as the strategic partner on the ground to capture the "pulse" of frontline advisory teams, identifying sales bottlenecks and designing targeted seller enablement, motivation, and recognition programs that cultivate a high-performance culture.
- Client-Centric Insurance Campaign & Proposition Management: Design, orchestrate, and execute high-impact client campaigns and joint product promotions that accelerate insurance penetration, deepen client wallet share, and maximize sustainable portfolio growth.
Core Roles & Key Responsibilities
1. Frontline Advisory Engagement, Seller Pulse & Recognition Programs
- Ground-Level Engagement & Feedback Loops: Spend dedicated time on the ground interacting with Insurance Specialists (IS), Relationship Managers (RM), and branch sales staff to identify sales friction points, market resistance, and emerging customer demands.
- Seller Motivation & Recognition Frameworks: Formulate, launch, and manage dynamic sales engagement initiatives, recognition schemes, quarterly awards, and celebration platforms to drive morale, healthy sales competition, and consistent pipeline generation.
- Advisory Enablement & Pitch Support: Partner with product managers and underwriters to translate complex insurance concepts and product features into actionable, conversational sales toolkits, client-ready pitch scripts, and comparative cheat sheets.
- Change Management & Product Adoption: Drive high adoption rates for new insurance product rollouts by delivering tailored briefings, roadshows, and campaign kick-offs across branches and wealth centers.
2. Client Campaigns, Joint Solutions & Portfolio Growth
- End-to-End Campaign Lifecycle Management: Lead the ideation, design, budget allocation, and multi-channel execution of client promotional programs, product launch blitzes, and seasonal sales drives (e.g., tax season, year-end wealth planning).
- Cross-Product Synergy & Packaging: Collaborate across retail and wealth product lines (e.g., Investment Products, Deposits, Mortgages, Credit Cards) to develop bundled solutions, pre-approved offers, and joint marketing initiatives that enhance client lifetime value.
- Client Segmentation & Targeted Analytics: Leverage client transaction data, behavioral insights, and market trends to identify untapped client segments (e.g., High-Net-Worth, Emerging Affluent, Cross-Border Wealth) and deploy tailored insurance propositions.
- Multi-Channel Go-to-Market Execution: Work alongside Digital Banking and Marketing teams to synchronize omni-channel campaigns across digital touchpoints (Mobile App, Online Banking, EDMs) and physical branch channels.
3. Partner Collaboration & Operational Excellence
- Insurance Partner Alliance: Work in close synergy with strategic insurance partners to coordinate co-funded marketing budgets, align campaign calendars, and track joint business objectives.
- Performance Tracking & Analytics: Monitor campaign ROI, product conversion rates, advisor participation ratios, and policy persistency. Present regular performance updates and actionable insights to senior management.
4. Governance, Risk Management & Compliance
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all advisor engagement programs, sales campaigns, client collateral, and incentive frameworks strictly adhere to the guidelines set by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the Insurance Authority (IA), and internal compliance frameworks.
- Fair Dealing & Treat Customers Fairly (TCF): Embed sound sales conduct principles into all recognition and campaign frameworks, ensuring product suitability, transparency, and prevention of misselling.
- Control & Audit Governance: Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Control teams to complete mandatory prior to campaign launch.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Top-Line Performance: Achievement of Hong Kong Insurance Annual fee revenue targets.
- Frontline Activation & Participation: Percentage of active insurance sellers across advisory channels and adoption velocity of newly launched insurance products.
- Campaign Effectiveness: Campaign ROI, lead conversion rate, digital-to-offline referral conversion, and client penetration rate within target segments.
- Conduct & Compliance: Zero regulatory breaches, full adherence to sales conduct policies, and clean audit reviews.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Industry Experience: Minimum 6+ years of progressive experience within the insurance, retail banking, or wealth management sector, with direct exposure to insurance product management, channel development, or sales enablement in Hong Kong.
- Frontline & Advisory Exposure: Proven track record of working closely with frontline distribution channels (RMs, Insurance Specialists, Branch Managers) with a demonstrated ability to influence, inspire, and drive sales teams.
- Campaign & Project Management: Hands-on experience in managing end-to-end marketing campaigns, promotional budget management, and multi-stakeholder project delivery.
Knowledge & Skills
- Market & Product Knowledge: Strong grasp of life insurance, and legacy planning solutions available in the Hong Kong market.
- Regulatory Acumen: Solid understanding of HKMA and IA regulatory regimes
- Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Capabilities: Ability to derive actionable insights from sales data and translate them into practical commercial strategies
