We are looking for a Senior full-stack Node.js Engineer to join our team developing embedded Linux applications for monitoring equipment in electrical networks. You will take ownership of complex technical outcomes, help shape system design and engineering practices, and provide guidance to other developers.

The role is primarily focused on JavaScript and TypeScript development, using Node.js to design and evolve microservices on our embedded Linux platform and React.js to create web applications that communicate with back-end services through REST APIs. You will make and communicate architectural decisions, balancing reliability, maintainability, security, and delivery needs.

You will lead the design, implementation, testing, and debugging of new features for IoT embedded devices across the full software development lifecycle. You will tackle ambiguous and system-level problems, identify dependencies and delivery risks, and drive solutions from technical approach through production readiness.

Responsibilities:

- Own the design and delivery of complex embedded software capabilities using Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.

- Define and evolve microservice, REST API, and application architecture in line with reliability, maintainability, security, and performance requirements.

- Lead investigation and resolution of complex software and system issues on Linux-based embedded devices.

- Own technical planning for complex work, identify dependencies, and communicate delivery risks and trade-offs early.

- Improve CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows to support dependable, repeatable delivery.

- Set the testing approach for assigned capabilities and ensure effective unit, integration, and system-level coverage.

- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers through design discussions, pairing, and constructive code reviews.

- Drive coding standards, documentation, and engineering best practices across the team.

- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, product, hardware, and other engineering teams to deliver coherent end-to-end solutions.

Required Qualifications:

- Substantial commercial experience delivering production software with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

- Demonstrated ownership of complex features or services from technical design through implementation, testing, release, and operational support.

- Experience making and communicating architectural decisions for maintainable, reliable software systems.

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in Linux environments, including investigation of cross-service or system-level issues.

- Strong understanding of REST APIs and common communication and transport protocols such as Ethernet, serial, and TLS/SSL.

- Proven ability to raise engineering standards through code reviews, technical guidance, and continuous improvement.

- Ability to plan complex work, manage technical risks and dependencies, and collaborate effectively across disciplines.

- Fluent English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with Docker for containerization

- Experience with GitLab CI/CD for automated deployments

- Experience with Linux system configuration

- Knowledge of IoT-related projects and experience in hardware-software integration

- Familiar with Agile methodologies and experienced in using Jira and Confluence

- Experience with Rust is an additional advantage.
