About the Role

This role contributes to the delivery of customer outcomes that are reliable, thoughtful, and create meaningful impact for customers and society. The role holder is expected to embed a customer first mindset in all decisions and actions by developing a clear understanding of customer needs, taking end to end ownership to resolve issues, and working collaboratively across teams to continuously enhance the customer journey—both directly and indirectly.

Agency Digital Platform Consultant will support the design, implementation, and adoption of AI-enabled and digital solutions across the Agency Digital Platform by partnering with business and technology teams to translate requirements into scalable and sustainable capabilities. Drive solution delivery, platform stability, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, user experience, and business value for the agency distribution channel.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Application Development, Solution Design & AI Enablement (70%)

- Design, develop, and enhance scalable, high-performance digital and AI-enabled solutions to support agency business growth and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and implement AI, GenAI, automation, and digital use cases that address business challenges and improve user experience.
- Contribute to the development of frontend (web and mobile), backend, API, and business logic components using modern architecture and cloud-native technologies.
- Support agile software delivery using DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms to accelerate solution deployment and innovation.
- Participate in the design and implementation of microservices, reusable services, and AI-integrated architectures that are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
- Evaluate and recommend AI technologies, models, frameworks, and tools to support business objectives and technology roadmaps.
- Ensure solution stability, scalability, performance, and security requirements are met through effective solution design and implementation across application and infrastructure layers.
- Analyze business requirements, system flows, and technical dependencies to design practical and sustainable technology solutions.
- Support the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and post-production support, in accordance with enterprise standards.
- Work closely with offshore development teams, vendors, and technology partners, participating in solution reviews, code reviews, and AI use case assessments.
- Support proof-of-concept (PoC), pilot, and production implementation activities for AI and digital initiatives, helping validate business value and technical feasibility.
- Drive continuous improvement of applications, development processes, and platform capabilities through automation, AI adoption, and engineering best practices.
- Support other TDA teams in delivering strategic initiatives across AIAHK digital channels and tracking implementation outcomes and benefits.

System Support, Platform Stability & Technical Advisory (20%)

- Analyze technical issues and provide effective, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, ensuring minimal business disruption and timely issue resolution.
- Monitor application performance, platform health, and service availability to ensure operational excellence.
- Support AI-enabled solutions and digital platforms in production, including monitoring model performance, identifying improvement opportunities, and coordinating issue resolution.
- Promote software engineering disciplines, architecture principles, and development standards within the technology community.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing on emerging technologies, AI capabilities, application design, and development practices.
- Research industry trends, emerging technologies, AI innovations, and digital capabilities, and provide recommendations for adoption where appropriate.
- Support project planning, delivery tracking, risk management, and stakeholder communications.
- Recommend improvements to application development, system support, governance, and operational processes.
- Assess and recommend system, platform, framework, SDK, and technology upgrades to ensure sustainability, security, and future readiness.

Governance, Innovation & Other Responsibilities (10%)

- Ensure all deliverables comply with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, regulatory obligations, and governance guidelines.
- Support responsible AI adoption by ensuring AI solutions adhere to established governance, data privacy, security, and risk management requirements.
- Stay current with emerging digital, AI, and technology trends and proactively identify opportunities to create business value.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration.
- Ensure all AIA HK TDA project and BAU deliverables comply with AIA Group Security standards and other applicable policies and controls.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management to support business objectives and organizational priorities.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in application development, digital platforms, or technology delivery; 5 to 10 years of experience preferred for more senior positions.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and agency distribution business is an advantage.
- Experience in digital solution development, cloud technologies, and modern software engineering practices.
- Familiarity with AI, GenAI, automation technologies, or data-driven solutions would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical technology solutions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile, and collaborative environment.
- Candidates with less experience can be considered as Specialist.

Competency

- Full-stack development knowledge across web, mobile, cloud, and enterprise platforms.
- Understanding of API integration, microservices, and modern application architecture.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS) and data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Data Lake, MongoDB).
- Knowledge of AI, GenAI, chatbot, and automation technologies.
- Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Agile/Scrum, and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with IAM and authentication standards, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Adobe Analytics knowledge would be an advantage.
