Job Description

Location: Wrocław, Poland (On-site)

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Calypso Business Analyst  / Functional Analyst to join a newly established team supporting the Capital Markets ecosystem of a major European banking institution.

This is a unique opportunity to become part of a strategic initiative aimed at building a brand-new team from the ground up. The team will be responsible for supporting, enhancing, and evolving critical Capital Markets operations and systems, with a strong focus on the Calypso platform.

You will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, helping to translate business requirements into functional solutions while contributing to the continuous improvement of trading, risk, and post-trade processes.

The position offers long-term stability, exposure to complex financial products, and the possibility of future internalization with the end client after a successful collaboration period .

Key Responsibilities

- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements related to Calypso.
- Collaborate with Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk, and Operations teams.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and user stories.
- Participate in the design and implementation of Calypso enhancements and new functionalities.
- Support incident analysis and resolution in cooperation with technical teams.
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and development teams.
- Assist with testing activities, including SIT, UAT, and production validation.
- Contribute to process optimization initiatives across Capital Markets operations.
- Support system upgrades, releases, and platform transformation projects.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

- 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst within financial services.
- Previous demonstrated experience working with the Calypso platform.
- Strong understanding of Capital Markets products and trade lifecycle processes.
- Experience gathering and documenting functional and business requirements.
- Ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk, or Operations workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English: C1 proficiency

Nice to Have

- Exposure to derivatives, fixed income, FX, equities, or money markets.
- Understanding of SQL and data analysis.
- Experience working in investment banking environments.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
- Previous involvement in Calypso implementation, migration, or upgrade projects.
