We are looking for a Payroll Specialist at our Amsterdam HQ, 32–40 hours, who can start in January 2027.

What our Payroll Specialists do

- Own payroll for assigned markets  manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process, from collecting inputs such as store working hours and HR mutations to preparing vendor inputs and thoroughly checking payroll outputs
- Analyse payroll variations and investigate differences to ensure payroll is accurate, complete, and processed on time
- Complete payroll closing activities including reconciliations, journal creation, pension registrations, and related checks ,
- Ensure statutory compliance by understanding and applying local payroll legislation, Collective Labour Agreements, and other relevant regulations across your assigned markets
- Act as a key point of contact for store managers, employees, external payroll providers, and tax authorities regarding payroll-related questions
- Support payroll administration including pensions, correspondence from tax authorities, and other employee-related statutory requirements
- Drive continuous improvements by identifying opportunities to streamline manual workflows, optimise systems, and improve the scalability of our payroll processes
- Contribute to strategic projects that support the growth and development of the payroll function
- Support the Finance team during annual audits by providing relevant payroll documentation and explanations
- Collaborate across HR, Finance, and Operations to improve processes, solve issues, and ensure a smooth payroll experience for our employees

You have

- 3–5 years of hands-on payroll experience , preferably in an international or multi-country European environment
- A relevant educational background in HR, Finance, Payroll, or a PDL (Praktijkdiploma Loonadministratie) qualification is a plus
- Strong technical curiosity  you want to understand the payroll logic and statutory rules behind the numbers rather than simply following a checklist
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain high-quality standards while working under deadline pressure
- A solution-oriented mindset and the confidence to work independently on both routine and non-routine payroll questions
- A proactive approach to problem solving  you research available resources and come to the table with potential solutions
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with HR, Finance, store operations, external providers, and other stakeholders
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-changing environment, including evolving systems, processes, and responsibilities
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and experience working with HRIS and payroll systems
- The ability to work from or commute to our Amsterdam HQ

- The salary range for this role is €50,000 – €60,000 gross per year based on full-time, including 8% holiday allowance. The salary within this range depends on experience.
