About this role
At Diakrit, we create digital marketing tools that help people around the world imagine their future home. With operations across 7 countries and more than 8,000 real estate clients, our work powers a better property experience.
Founded in Sweden, Diakrit brings a unique blend of Swedish company culture and international collaboration.
We’re now hiring a Senior Financial Controller to take ownership of our finance operations globally.
Are you a finance leader who thrives on bringing structure, compliance, and insight to complex environments? Are you passionate about automating manual processes and building systems that scale? Do you roll up your sleeves to solve root issues rather than just identifying them? If that sounds like you - we want you to lead our global finance team.
In this role, you’ll work across all areas of the business to sharpen your commercial acumen while embedding best-practice compliance, systems, and training across a remote team of internal accountants and outsourced partners.
What You Will Be Doing:
As Senior Financial Controller, you will take full ownership of our global accounting, treasury, and finance operations. Your mandate is twofold: ensure financial accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across the group, and build a high-performing finance function through continuous improvement and team development.
Your mission is to lead and elevate global finance operations across all entities by driving timely month-end closes, robust treasury and cash management, rigorous internal controls, and seamless audit execution. You will act as the primary financial authority and systems owner, leading high-performing in-house teams and outsource partners while ensuring compliance, liquidity, and risk governance across the group.
You will dive into the details, resolve root causes of issues, and implement sustainable solutions. Your strong analytical and communication skills will enable you to work effectively across functions and geographies, fostering alignment and clarity.
Key Responsibilities
- Month End Close Management & Reporting
Oversee end-to-end general ledger accounting, Group consolidation, cross-border invoicing, transfer pricing, and monthly financial reporting across 20 legal entities in 8 countries. Enforce strict month-end close discipline to achieve entity close by WD+5 and group consolidation by WD+7 with zero unreconciled balance sheet items. Prepare robust financial accounting position papers to support positions taken on complex accounting matters.
- Audit Leadership, Accounting Policies & Internal Controls
Direct Group and local statutory audit engagements with external auditors (PwC) and regional advisors to deliver clean audit opinions with zero unadjusted differences. Maintain group accounting policies, lead enterprise risk register management, and oversee global corporate insurance renewals and IP asset protection.
- Group Treasury, Cash Management & Banking Controls
Lead group treasury operations, including 13-week rolling cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and intercompany cash pooling structures. Enforce dual-authorization banking controls and drive group-wide AR collection strategies to maintain target DSO (<45 days).
- ERP & Systems Architecture Ownership
Act as primary system owner across the global finance stack (NetSuite ERP, QuickBooks, and Xero). Drive workflow standardization, process automation, and 100% data integration/sync across platforms.
- Process Improvement & Controls
Identify and implement scalable finance processes and internal controls to support the company’s growth, including leveraging automation and best practices across the group.
- Finance Operations Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop a team comprising 5 - 6 internal accountants and 4 outsourced accounting partner teams. Establish clear operational SLAs, standardize workflows, and foster accountability and knowledge sharing.
You'll thrive in this roll if:
- You’re relentless about process efficiency and take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality accounting outcomes.
- You bring a solid grounding in audit, financial reporting, or tax, and are eager to apply that expertise in a commercial environment.
- You enjoy mentoring and developing finance talent, and get satisfaction from lifting the capability and output of your team.
- You communicate with clarity and empathy, and are comfortable collaborating with people across functions, cultures, and time zones.
- You embrace change and ambiguity, and are energised by building and improving systems in a dynamic, fast-moving business.
This role won’t be for you if:
- You prefer clearly defined hierarchies and structured environments over fluid, cross-functional collaboration.
- You prefer high-level vision work and delegate the details without diving in yourself.
- You rely on others to document your thinking, decisions, or processes.
- You’re looking to maintain an already fully optimised finance operation.
- You are uncomfortable working remotely or across international teams and time zones.
Must-Haves:
- Professional accounting qualification
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in financial control, business finance, or senior finance management roles
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), Swedish language skills is an advantage
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders using financial insights
You’ll also bring:
- Deep expertise in financial reporting, group consolidation, and statutory compliance
- Experience across finance systems and ERP environments (NetSuite required; QuickBooks and Xero experience preferred)
- Direct experience leading statutory audits with Big 4 / Tier 1 audit firms (PwC audit experience highly regarded)
- Strong treasury acumen, including 13-week rolling cash flow modelling and intercompany funding management
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with BI tools for automation and analysis
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, cross-cultural mindset
- The flexibility to work across time zones with a globally distributed team
- A high degree of independence, initiative, and ownership
