We are looking for a QC Laboratory Technician to join our microbiology laboratory in Heywood. Working in the QC preparation laboratory alongside QC Specialists and QC Microbiologists, you will support the efficient testing of Neogen products while helping to keep the laboratory organised, well stocked and ready for use.

Your responsibilities:

• Prepare QC batches and samples for physical testing in accordance with approved procedures.

• Calibrate and monitor laboratory equipment in line with procedures and training.

• Prepare and maintain stock solutions and media, ensuring laboratory supplies remain available.

• Complete routine laboratory housekeeping tasks and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

• Retain and organise samples and associated documentation, maintaining accurate and traceable records.

What we are looking for:

• Practical laboratory experience gained through study, research or employment, preferably in microbiology.

• An understanding of good laboratory practice, safe working practices and accurate record-keeping.

• A careful, organised approach and the ability to follow written procedures.

• Good communication skills, a willingness to learn and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

This role would suit a graduate or postgraduate in microbiology, biology or a related scientific discipline who is seeking industrial laboratory experience. Applications are also welcome from candidates with equivalent practical laboratory experience. Role-specific training will be provided.
