About this role
This role will be based in Letterkenny and offers a hybrid working model of two days onsite per week. A fully remote option may also be considered, depending on the candidate's location and level of experience.
Prudential Bermuda Reinsurance is looking to fill an Associate Actuary who will be based in Ireland/Letterkenny in the Projections & Capital team.
This position will report to the Head of Projections and Capital (or reporting to the Director, Actuary on the team), primary responsibilities include producing liabilities relating to all forecasting and stress testing performed for both companies. This includes exercises for internal purposes (Multi-Year Projections, DST, LST, SSM, CISSA, etc.) and exercises for external purposes (business cases, regulatory stress testing).
This position will also collaborate across a wide range of teams, including Finance, Treasury, Global Portfolio Management, Audit, Tax and Risk Management.
What you can expect:
- Assist in producing liabilities items for forecasting, stress testing reporting deliverables.
- Collaborate with valuation and reporting teams to ensure that forecasting and stress testing appropriately capture the dynamics of the businesses.
- Work closely with both LotusRe and GibRe reporting teams to prepare and submit annual Bermuda filings.
- Collaborate with Modeling team to refine models to support all forecasting, stress testing and capital reporting needs.
- Collaborate and engage with key stakeholders: Bermuda Finance and Actuarial teams, Business Unit Finance and Actuarial teams, Modelling, Corporate Treasury, Global Portfolio Management, Audit (internal and external), Risk Management, Tax and Assumptions Teams
- Support future Bermuda reinsurance transaction analysis and pricing projects
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years working in financial services, ideally experience in reinsurance reporting
- Near FSA (or international equivalent)
- Knowledge of Bermuda EBS framework and reinsurance.
- Knowledge of other international accounting frameworks and/ or insurance accounting, with experience in the preparation of balance sheets and income statements
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Dedication to high-quality, timely work and strong results
- Passion for problem solving
- Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
- Highly organized, collaborative and adept at managing multiple, competing priorities.
