Position Summary
As Program Manager - Runway of Dreams, you will lead the development, implementation, and management of both existing and new strategic initiatives that advance the organization’s mission and expand its impact and reach. You will oversee program strategy, planning, and execution, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making and measurable outcomes to ensure effectiveness and long-term success.
You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining consistent reporting processes and performance metrics that track progress, demonstrate program outcomes, and inform continuous improvement. In addition, you will collaborate closely with staff, leadership, and volunteers to develop and deliver diverse, impactful, and inclusive programs that align with organizational priorities and support sustainable growth. Through strategic oversight, cross-functional partnership, and a commitment to measurable results, you will help strengthen the reach and impact of Runway of Dreams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of diverse programs and initiatives that advance the Foundation’s mission.
- Establish and maintain program metrics, reporting frameworks, and evaluation tools that promote learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across teams and with a range of stakeholders to strengthen and expand program reach, quality, and sustainability.
- Contribute to the development of long-term strategy and vision for program growth and innovation in close partnership with leadership.
- Build systems and processes that support program operations, resource development, and consistent, high-quality delivery across sites.
- Support fundraising efforts by aligning program initiatives with peer-to-peer campaigns, events, and donor engagement strategies.
- Help achieve organizational revenue goals through collaboration with fundraising teams, integrating program insights into broader development strategies.
- Represent the Foundation as a programmatic lead, serving as a key point of contact for program-related opportunities and partnerships and developing program briefs, strategy documents, and reports for internal and external audiences.
- Support a high-performing team environment by setting clear expectations, streamlining workflows, and fostering accountability and collaboration.
- Ensure programs are responsive to organizational priorities, aligned with strategic goals, and positioned for long-term growth and relevance.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required, degree in nonprofit management, business, public administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in program management or nonprofit operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, including 5+years’ managing 3 or more direct reports and consistently establishing and exceeding performance outcomes across multiple functional teams.
- Proven success designing and implementing multisite or national programs, including seeing strategic goals, tracking comprehensive impact metrics, and continuously optimizing programs based on performance data, resulting in consistent year-over-year financial improvements in outcomes of 15% or more, proven expansion to 3 new locations or services each year.
- Over 5 years of experience cultivating and managing strategic partnerships, directly contributing to measurable program growth, increased organizational visibility, and revenue generation, including partnerships that led to an annual revenue increase of 15% or more, or expansion of program reach by 25% annually.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, demonstrated by successfully managing multiple concurrent projects, meeting 100% of key deadlines over the past year.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including authorship of strategy documents, proposals, reports to Sr leaders, as well as pitch documents, resulting in approval of 70%+ of submitted proposals or strategic recommendation.
- Direct involvement in fundraising efforts, contributing to donor-aligned strategies and campaigns that collectively raised over $1MM annually, with proven capability of achieving a 15% increase from the previous year.
- Proficiency in operational tools, including daily use of project management platforms (Monday.com), advanced competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), creation or coordination of visual assets annually using Canva, and regular management of CRM systems and data dashboards to track engagement metrics, deliverables, and impact.
- Results-oriented and mission-driven, with a track record clearly connecting day-to-day activities to organizational goals, demonstrated by achievement or exceeding performance targets by 90% year-over-year.
