The Referrals and Clinical Authorizations Analyst is responsible for the overall effectiveness and accuracy of data collection, reporting, and analysis needed to support the Access Management Department and other peripheral departments influenced by such financial activity.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Field and prioritizes all data, reporting, and analysis requests.
- Manage requests by identifying appropriate systems and steps needed for timely completion.
- Produce and maintain necessary reporting tools, i.e., denial management reports, financial report cards, productivity dashboards, and quality monitoring reports.
- Facilitate data capture, reporting, analysis, and storage.
- Develop data sets to identify trends, opportunities, and errors throughout the revenue cycle.
- Facilitate communication and understanding of key performance indicators.
- Design and develop appropriate benchmarking dashboards and tools.
- Support department leadership decision-making (e.g., staffing, performance) through quantitative models and ad hoc reports.
- Create and maintain project management tools to support department Leadership on special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

- Knowledge of revenue cycle operations as well as basic payer requirements, managed care policies, and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of Epic or other hospital information systems.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good judgment, tact, and sensitivity.
- Analytical, problem-solving and research skills.

- Project/task management skills.
- Relationship building skills with ability to collaborate.
- Technical savvy and knowledge of analytical tools, particularly Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team, and as a trainer/facilitator with leadership abilities.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet pre-determined deadlines.
- Ability to work with sensitive patient information and maintain confidentiality.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education :
Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum Experience :
2 years of relevant work experience required. Experience with various software applications, including Microsoft Office (Access, Power Point, Project, Word, and Excel), Business Objects, or Oracle preferred. Experience with revenue cycle systems, technology, and relevant applications preferred.

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.

For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
