Position Overview
- Position Title: Customer Service Coordinator / Sales Coordinator
- Position Type: Direct Placement (Salaried Non-Exempt)
- Location: Champaign, IL (Plant Environment / Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite, 2 Days Remote)
- Compensation: $50,000 – $55,000 / year base + overtime (~45 hours/week)
- Benefits: 2–3 weeks PTO (negotiable based on candidate profile)

- Financial Scope: Oversees $500K – $1M in monthly sales revenue
Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive, tech-savvy, and high-energy Customer Service Coordinator to support day-to-day customer and sales operations in a fast-paced plant environment. Serving as a critical bridge between customers, commercial sales, supply chain, and manufacturing operations, this role executes orders, coordinates logistics, reconciles consignment inventory, and ensures billing accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
- Order Management & Execution: Accurately process and input customer purchase orders into the ERP system.
- Manage order modifications, schedule updates, and send timely order confirmations.
- Maintain forecasts, monitor open orders, and follow up with production, shipping, and logistics teams to ensure on-time fulfillment.
- Customer & Sales Support: Provide responsive support via phone and heavy email communication regarding pricing, product availability, order tracking, and general inquiries.
- Serve as a key liaison between external customers, commercial sales, logistics, and internal plant operations.
- Logistics & Inventory Coordination: Coordinate shipping, receiving, and transportation activities, including tracking shipments and liaising with outside warehouses and 3PL partners.
- Timely reconcile consignment inventory and ensure proper documentation and billing.
- Invoicing & Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely invoicing aligned with pricing, shipments, and customer requirements.
- Support cross-functional departments including Finance, Engineering, ITC, Supply Chain, and Purchasing.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience & Education
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in customer service, sales coordination, inside sales, logistics, or order management.
- Industry Focus: Manufacturing, industrial, or blue-collar industry background preferred (open to all industries; B2B or B2C experience accepted).
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but equivalent work experience is fully accepted (High School Diploma / GED required).
Technical Skills & Core Competencies
- ERP & Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP); must be tech-savvy and adaptable to system transitions.
- Excel Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Process Knowledge: Understanding of order-to-cash (O2C) processes, high-volume purchase orders, and precise invoicing protocols.
- Communication & Demeanor: High sense of urgency, detail-oriented, energetic, and proactive with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment & Screening
- Team Structure: Operates within a collaborative team of ~10 team members.
- Schedule: Salaried non-exempt position requiring approximately 45 hours per week (overtime paid). Currently operating on a 3/2 hybrid schedule.
- Pre-Employment Screening: Pre-employment drug and background check required (THC compliance adheres to state legality standards).
- Interview Process: 1st round (Teams with HR) → 2nd round (Teams with Leadership) → 3rd/Final round (In-Person at Plant).
