As a Carpenter, you’ll play an important role in creating and maintaining a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and caregivers. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail help keep our facilities functional, secure, and supportive of world-class patient care.

This position responds to a variety of carpentry work orders and preventive maintenance needs throughout the hospital. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing fire doors, rolling doors, and other building components while helping ensure our facilities remain safe, reliable, and operating efficiently.

As part of an experienced, collaborative team, you’ll work alongside skilled lead technicians and knowledgeable colleagues who value teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning. The role offers opportunities to expand your expertise, solve problems, and take pride in quality workmanship that makes a meaningful difference every day.

A caregiver in this position works 3rd shift 10:30pm - 7:00am.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

- Construct, erect, install and repair building structures, cabinetry, doors and hardware, flooring, ceilings and walls.

- Maintain and repair existing structures and fixtures.

- Install, maintain and repair casework, cabinets, countertops, floorings, walls, ceiling, masonry, doors and door hardware.

- Perform structural remodeling, construction and demolition.

- Perform regular inspections and repair of fire and smoke doors.

- Work across multiple Cleveland Clinic locations as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

- A High School Diploma or GED

- 3 years of carpentry experience

- Can read and comprehend blueprints/AutoCAD and use of power tools

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

- Certificate of an approved carpentry apprenticeship program or trade school

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
- •Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time•
- Ability to travel throughout the Cleveland Clinic health system•
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
- •Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)•
- Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)•
- Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)•
- Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures•
- Ability to climb ladders
