We are looking for a Acoustics Specialist
Responsibilities / Responsabilità
Description of the Role
The acoustics engineer must have working knowledge of aerodynamic noise generation mechanisms, sound propagation and transmission. The acoustics engineer will work closely with aerodynamicist and structural design engineers to collaborate on the design considerations for the noise of the aircraft.
Main Activities / What performs, What prepares, What supports, What contributes to…
- Operate acoustic simulation tools (COMSOL, Actran, PowerFLOW);
- Perform acoustic analyses of aircraft systems and components using data obtained from simulations and flight or ground tests;
- Develop and maintain acoustic analysis tools and scripts;
- Conduct trade studies on both configuration and operational changes aimed at reducing noise and vibration;
- Predict interior and exterior aircraft noise levels, including propeller noise and its transmission to aircraft structures and cabins.
Main Outputs
- Develop models to predict aeroacoustic loads, propeller noise, and noise propagation;
- Research existing technologies and develop innovative approaches to optimize acoustic performance;
- Perform duct acoustics and acoustic liner analyses, including the development of analysis tools and scripts;
- Operate acoustic and vibration simulation tools, and provide technical guidance to others in their use for the generation and interpretation of acoustic and vibration data.
Main Interfaces
- The acoustic engineer will work closely with various internal groups to guide the aircraft design from a noise and vibration perspective.
