Production Assembly & Test Technician – Equilibar
Location: Fletcher, North Carolina
Type: Full time on site 8am – 5pm
Reports to: Production Manager, Equilibar
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Assembly & Test Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting electronic and mechanical components to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications. Your hands-on expertise will contribute directly to the efficient production of high-quality products, supporting our commitment to excellence and innovation. Equilibar is looking for a full-time Production Assembly & Test Technician for day shifts within the core hours of 8 A.M. - 5 P.M. Monday through Friday. The Assembly & Test Technician assembles, tests and documents back pressure regulators, valves, subassemblies, and accessories to design specifications from the engineering team. As a member of the Production team, the Assembly Technician works closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel to build high-quality products, resolve assembly or performance issues, and support continuous improvement efforts. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about manufacturing, precision measurement, and mechanical assembly. The work environment is indoors, in a clean, well-lit, conditioned space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and inspect components before assembly to ensure they are free from contamination, debris, and lint.
- Assemble back pressure regulators, subassemblies, and accessories according to drawings, work instructions, and customer requirements.
- Perform functional and leak testing to confirm products meet quality and performance requirements.
- Accurately record assembly information, inspection results, and test data in Equilibars online quality management system.
- Maintain assembly tools, test equipment, measuring devices, and required tooling records.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality to identify and resolve product assembly or performance issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Support polishing, cleaning, and other production activities as assigned.
- Assist with continuous improvement efforts and other duties needed to meet production goals.
Preferred qualifications and characteristics:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or production environments.
- Experience assembling precision mechanical components using engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Familiarity with pneumatic tools, torque wrenches, calipers, and common hand tools.
- Experience performing mechanical testing, leak testing, or functional testing is preferred.
- Basic computer skills for entering production and testing data.
- Experience working within a quality management system is beneficial.
- Ability to regularly lift and handle materials weighing up to 75 pounds without assistance.
