JOB SUMMARY:

The Mortgage Loan Processor II is an experienced mortgage professional responsible for the review, organization and submission of mortgage loan files, including conventional agency (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac), FHA, VA, USDA and portfolio loan products in accordance with all applicable guidelines and regulations, including but not limited to Credit Union, investor, insurer and regulatory agencies. This role will work closely with borrowers, origination staff, underwriters, closers and real estate partners/vendors to ensure an efficient, compliant and member-focused lending experience. The ideal candidate is familiar with complex loan scenarios, is detail oriented, organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment while following policy and procedures as well as meeting prescribed service level agreements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Process Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, home equity loans, HELOCs and portfolio residential mortgage loans in accordance with agency, investor and Credit Union policies and procedures from application through closing.

- Maintain current knowledge of and comply with all applicable credit union policies, lending requirements, and federal, state, local, governmental, and investor regulations related to mortgage lending.

- Identify and resolve complex underwriting scenarios (self-employed borrowers, multiple properties, gift funds, non-traditional income, layered risk, etc.)

- Order and track third-party services including, but not limited to, appraisals, title work, flood certifications, and verifications

- Collect and review required loan documentation to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data in the loan origination system.

- Fulfill outstanding underwriting conditions by working with members, real estate agents and builders as may apply.

- Effectively communicate with loan originators, buyers, sellers, third-party vendors, and real estate agents as needed.

- Maintain a pipeline of mortgage loans and evidence the ability to multi-task and facilitate loan closings within prescribed time frames. Work in tandem with loan officers and loan officer assistants in ensuring follow-up and communication.

- Contribute to the development and maintenance of role procedures.

- Complete all courses assigned in BVS in accordance with Credit Union policy.

- Supports other real estate department staff and performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- A high school diploma or equivalent degree is required; bachelors degree in business, finance, real estate or a related field is preferred.

- Minimum 2-4 years of mortgage processing experience.

- Familiarity with the Encompass Loan Origination System (LOS) and proficiency in Spanish preferred.

- Must be accurate, detail oriented, and organized. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements is a plus

- Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics including, but not limited to, adherence to all state and federal regulations

- Must be comfortable with substantial personal contact with others inside and/or outside of TVFCU for purposes of information sharing, relationship building, soliciting of cooperation, etc.

- Must be able to be bonded and meet Safe Act Requirements including, but not limited to, being registered or licensed via the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS)
