About this role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator with a strong background in drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and commercial interior construction . This role will oversee the estimating process from initial bid invitation through project handoff, ensuring accurate, competitive, and well-documented proposals.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, understands commercial interior construction, and can confidently manage multiple bids, deadlines, takeoffs, pricing, and scope reviews in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed estimates for commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and related interior construction projects.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
- Solicit, review, compare, and level pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and value-engineering opportunities.
- Prepare complete bid proposals, including scope summaries, clarifications, exclusions, and pricing documentation.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, field teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients throughout the estimating process.
- Maintain historical pricing, estimating databases, bid logs, and project documentation.
- Provide detailed estimate breakdowns, assumptions, and scope information during project turnover.
- Participate in post-bid reviews and contribute to improving estimating processes and accuracy.
- Assist with conceptual budgets, negotiated bids, change-order pricing, and other estimating requirements.
- Track multiple bids and ensure accurate, timely submissions.

Requirements

- 3+ years of commercial estimating experience in drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior trades .
- Required experience in commercial interior construction estimating.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, sequencing, and interior building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
- Proven experience with detailed quantity takeoffs and complete bid preparation.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift , or similar estimating and takeoff software.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple bids, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
