Jefferson Health is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Cardiovascular Critical Care Physician to join our multidisciplinary cardiovascular team. This position offers the opportunity to provide advanced critical care to patients with complex cardiovascular conditions within a dynamic clinical and academic environment.
The Cardiovascular Critical Care Physician will provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients with cardiovascular disease, working closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, and other specialists. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the management of complex cardiac and cardiovascular critical care patients and a strong commitment to multidisciplinary, patient-centered care.
Job Description
- Provide comprehensive critical care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions in the cardiovascular intensive care setting.
- Manage patients with acute and advanced cardiac disease, including cardiogenic shock, acute coronary syndromes, decompensated heart failure, complex arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular emergencies.
- Participate in the care of patients before and after complex cardiovascular and cardiac surgical procedures.
- Manage critically ill patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and cardiovascular support.
- Collaborate with Cardiology, Advanced Heart Failure, Cardiac Surgery, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Pulmonary/Critical Care, and other specialty teams.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to coordinated treatment planning and transitions of care.
- Respond to acute clinical deterioration and cardiovascular emergencies within the critical care environment.
- Provide evidence-based, compassionate care to patients and their families.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical program development initiatives.
- Support the education of residents, fellows, medical students, advanced practice providers, and other members of the healthcare team, as applicable.
- Participate in academic, research, or scholarly activities based on interest and departmental opportunities.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree, or equivalent.
- Board certified or board eligible in an appropriate specialty with advanced training in Critical Care Medicine.
- Training and/or demonstrated expertise in cardiovascular critical care.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and/or other applicable states based on practice location.
- Strong clinical judgment and experience managing medically complex and critically ill cardiovascular patients.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
