About the Role:

The Content Author - Engineering is a self-motivated worker who can independently author various content types including sections, challenge activities, labs, and more. They take ownership of assigned projects or titles and may serve as the lead author on one or more titles. Additionally, they maintain a backlog of improvements for given engineering titles and contribute strategy and roadmap ideas to Leads or Senior Managers.

The Content Author – Engineering is responsible for ensuring the quality of their projects or titles in collaboration with the project manager. This person may also speak at conferences, publish research papers, articles, webinars, and blog posts, and collaborate with colleagues on the development team to define and develop interactive tools.

Job Responsibilities:

·       Create modern web-based content with extensive interactive learning questions, animations, and more for a variety of Engineering topics (Material Science, Thermodynamics, Statics and Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics, MATLAB, Circuits, and more).

·       Work with project managers to oversee external authoring projects (evaluate project proposals, train external authors to utilize the zyBooks platform, review content to ensure quality, and adherence to zyBooks' authoring guidelines).

·       Maintain and improve existing content.

·       Collaborate with colleagues on the engineering team to define and develop interactive tools.

·       Collaborate with colleagues in marketing and sales to assist with demos, respond to instructor feedback, assist with special requests, and more.

Required Qualifications:

·       M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Education.

·       Experience with LaTeX, MathML, and/or XML.

·       Previous teaching experience and/or previous authoring experience.

·       A passion for making a real difference in engineering education.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·       Highly motivated and organized.

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Previous academic research experience and publications in engineering education.

·       Experience coding in MATLAB and/or Python.

We are committed to fair, transparent pay, and we strive to provide competitive compensation in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles in the United Kingdom, Canada, USA, Austria, Czechia, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, or Spain. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
