What you’ll be doing

The Capital Markets arm of CIBC serves corporate, government, and institutional clients with innovative solutions and value-added services. From actionable ideas to tailored financing solutions, advisory services, and a strong suite of capital markets, trading, financing, and treasury capabilities, CIBC Capital Markets helps clients capitalize on opportunities and manage risk.

As Director, Global Markets Trading & Financing, Business Management, you will provide hands-on Business Management support to the Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC), Global Markets Financing (GMF), and Financial Resource Management (FRM) businesses. Working under the direction of the Executive Director, you will coordinate day-to-day deliverables, maintain core governance and management information, support business initiatives, and follow issues and actions through to completion.

This is an execution-focused role. Success will be measured through the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables; effective stakeholder coordination; and consistent completion of business, governance, financial, and operational requirements.

How you’ll succeed

- Strategic Planning and Initiative Delivery – Business planning and priority tracking, maintain business plans, initiative trackers, line-of-business roadmaps, action logs, and status updates. Coordinate inputs, identify missing information and dependencies, and escalate items requiring decisions. Initiative and change execution, develop workplans, coordinate working sessions, document decisions and actions, and track milestones. Complete or coordinate Change Initiative Risk Assessments (CIRAs) and required intake, risk, approval, and implementation documentation. New products and business activities, prepare analysis, project plans, communications, and approval materials. Coordinate with partner teams to confirm requirements, readiness, and completion of deliverables, including Authorized Product Listing updates where required.
- Governance, Risk, and Regulatory Management – Governance and control deliverables, maintain Risk Delegations, Authorized Product Listings, policies, procedures, supervisory documentation, governance inventories, and evidence. Execute and track access reviews, records management, attestations, training, contract reviews, and business-managed technology requirements. Audit, regulatory, and issue coordination, gather information and evidence for audit, regulatory, compliance, and risk requests. Maintain findings, deficiency, remediation, privacy, and incident trackers; monitor due dates; and escalate overdue or at-risk items.
- Financial Management and Reporting – Financial and expense support, coordinate planning and forecast inputs, expense reviews, invoice validation, vendor onboarding, cost tracking, and financial reporting. Investigate variances and prepare summaries of performance and cost drivers. Management reporting and materials, prepare dashboards, scorecards, briefing notes, leadership presentations, governance materials, and ad hoc analysis. Validate inputs, highlight changes and open items, and deliver accurate materials on time.
- Operational and Stakeholder Coordination – Day-to-day business support, respond to information requests, coordinate business administration, troubleshoot operational issues, maintain organized records and shared resources, and ensure requests are assigned, tracked, and closed. Stakeholder coordination, work across the front office, Technology, Operations, Finance, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Audit, Procurement, Enterprise Resilience, and regional Business Management teams. Confirm ownership and timelines and follow up consistently.
- Continuous Improvement and Standardization – Process improvement, identify recurring execution gaps, manual processes, and reporting inefficiencies. Document processes, recommend practical improvements, and support standardized templates, controls, and reporting.

Who you are

- You have relevant Capital Markets experience. You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Capital Markets, Business Management, Finance, Operations, Risk Management, corporate development, or a related function. Knowledge of FICC, financing, funding, liquidity, capital, or balance sheet management is an asset.
- You have a degree. In Commerce or Business Management/Accounting Designation. MBA, CA, CFA, or equivalent, is preferred.
- You're digitally savvy. You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. You can easily adapt to new tools and trends. You are proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint. Experience with Power BI, workflow tools, or AI-enabled productivity tools is an asset.
