Were looking for an experienced Director of Sales who will have direct oversight of the sales operation of the hotel. You will be responsible for cultivating and activating the strategic sales strategies, tactics, and action plans required to achieve your hotel's financial, leadership, and market share goals.

This is an on-site, exempt position that reports to the Regional Director | Sales. The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000.

What Youll Do

- Drive group business strategy and performance, identifying opportunities to grow market share and maximize revenue through proactive solicitation and account development.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national meeting planners, event organizers, third-party intermediaries, and key group decision-makers.

- Partner closely with the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), destination marketing organizations, and local tourism partners to identify leads, increase destination visibility, and secure new group business opportunities.

- Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, networking functions, and CVB-sponsored activities to strengthen market presence and generate qualified leads.

- Lead the development and execution of strategic group sales plans targeting association, corporate, SMERF, and other key group market segments.

- Monitor group pace, market trends, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and adjust sales strategies to achieve revenue and occupancy objectives.

- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless execution of group programs and events, delivering exceptional experiences that drive repeat business and long-term client relationships.

- Leverage CVB resources, partnerships, and destination initiatives to create compelling proposals and enhance the hotel's competitive positioning within the market.

- Establish and maintain a robust pipeline of group business opportunities through proactive prospecting, relationship-building, and client engagement activities.

- Foster strong partnerships across sales, revenue management, marketing, and operations to ensure alignment on group business goals and successful execution of contracted programs.

- Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Management and General Manager to create budgets, forecasts, and business plans.

- Partner closely with the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), destination marketing organizations, and local tourism partners to identify leads, increase destination visibility, and secure new group business opportunities.

- Lead, motivate, and train/develop your sales team so as we grow, they grow; they will be ready to step into new sales leadership roles that arise.

- Create and promote learning opportunities and development plans for direct reports, fostering a culture of development.

- Champion employee engagement and promote a collaborative and inclusive environment where all employees are encouraged to speak up and their input is valued.

- Collaborate with shared services partners (marketing, sales and revenue management, people & culture), to maximize performance and engage with companywide initiatives.

Who You Are

- Have a minimum of 5 years experience in sales positions in the hospitality industry, holding a leadership role and held a senior leadership role (Director of Sales or Associate Director of Sales-Preferred) at a hotel for at least two years.

- Demonstrate a track record of production in both Business Travel and Group Sales.

- Have knowledge and experience in Convention Sales Market.

- Have a track record of achieving and maintaining superior sales and revenue results at your hotel(s) and can articulate the underlying strategies that led to your achievements.

- Demonstrate thorough experience with professional selling skills: opening, probing, supporting, closing.

- Able to train and monitor the process of sending referrals, setting traces, and profiling accounts.

- Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

- Have a thorough knowledge of the hospitality industry, have a strong financial background, sound administrative skills, well developed management skills, and have demonstrated ability to effectively lead.
