Northrop Grumman is seeking experienced Mission Assurance Manager 1, Nondestructive Test/Inspection (NDI) to support a maintenance program with Northrop Grumman in Lake Charles, LA. The Navy E-6 is an airborne command post and communications relay based on the Boeing 707 platform The aircraft are utilized primarily for long-range patrols along the entire U.S. border, and in source and transit zone countries. This platform, now modified to the E-6B standard, conveys instructions from the National Command Authority to fleet ballistic missile submarines, a mission known as TACAMO ("Take Charge And Move Out").

This position is responsible for the direct supervision/management of an inspection team.  This includes managing non-exempt personnel and will be responsible for the combined strategic and tactical management planning activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Has overall responsibility for execution of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives, along with employee engagement for the Nondestructive Test/ Inspection team
- Strong focus on safe work environment, Zero Defects, and continuous improvement activities
- Optimizes inspection flow and production rates to meet customer demands, improve inventory turns and drive cost improvement
- Responsible for proactive resource management to mitigate production schedule risks
- Support a work environment characterized by employee involvement and participative management to encourage the highest level of employee commitment and cooperation
- Manage inspection team staffing levels to support customer requirements while maintaining efficient operations

- Develop and produce formal reports containing recommendations, computer generated graphics, plots, tables, summaries and comparisons. Maintain & archive electronic and hard copy inspection data and reports.
- Communicate and interact extensively with suppliers, component designers, safety, tooling engineers, and management personnel.
- Assist in the performance of inspector training, including training module creation. Perform technical audits of NDT/Inspection personnel.
- Review NDT/Inspection reports for accuracy, completeness, and procedural adherence. Analyze, interpret and convert data into format for engineering analysis.
- Support activities as required such as proposal support, process instruction revisions, new test development, interpretation of customer technical specifications, and support of internal or external meetings.
- Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

•       High school Diploma/GED with at least 10 years’ experience in NDT/Inspection.

•       At least 3 years supervisory/leadership experience.

•       Currently certified to Level 3 per NAS410 in UT, ET, MT and PT (certification will be verified).

•       Must have technical and in-depth knowledge of Nondestructive Testing applications/methods and Mission Assurance (MA) functions.

•       Demonstrated success managing and developing employees technical skills.

•       Proven leadership experience high rate production programs.

•       Understanding and use of root cause analysis.

•       Demonstrated strong technical skills related to NDT/Inspection.

Preferred Qualifications:

•       Aerospace or aviation experience.

•       Advanced computer skills and working knowledge of shop floor applications and software.

•       Must have the skills and knowledge to interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control NDT method(s).

•       Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, NAS410 and other Quality / NDI auditing / accreditation systems.

Primary Level Salary Range: $104,500.00 - $156,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
