Deal Desk Associate
Location
Description
We're looking for a Deal Desk Analyst to be the first point of contact for Sales and CRM on the commercial mechanics of a deal — CPQ configuration, Fee Proposal Documents, Order Documents, pricing, margin and approvals. You'll report to the Senior Deal Desk Manager, Complex Commercial Pursuits, and you'll be the person who turns a negotiated deal into an accurate, ready-to-execute one.
Job specification
- Own deal construction in CPQ. You'll configure quotes and proposals across the full portfolio — from straightforward Apex Invest subscriptions to more complex Fund Administration deals — so what's built in the system matches what was actually agreed.
- Produce accurate fee proposal and order documentation. You'll build Fee Proposal Documents and Order Documents that reflect the deal precisely — the right products, the right pricing, the right terms — ready for a customer to sign with confidence.
- Own deal pricing and margin production. You'll calculate and validate pricing and margin using our established models, and know when a deal's profile means it needs to be flagged up rather than processed as standard.
- Route deals through governance and approvals. You'll apply our tiered governance model — auto-approval, Deal Desk review, or escalation to specialist governance groups — so every deal gets exactly the scrutiny it needs, and no more than that.
- Be the first point of contact for Sales and CRM on commercial mechanics. When a deal needs pricing sense-checked, a proposal turned around fast, or an approval chased, you're who they come to — and you make sure momentum doesn't stall on your desk.
- Maintain commercial data integrity. You'll keep pricing, product and approval data accurate in CPQ and Salesforce, so everything downstream — reporting, governance, forecasting — can be trusted.
Skills Required:
- 2–4 years of experience in Deal Desk, Commercial Operations, or a similar commercial/quoting function, ideally within SaaS, B2B tech, or financial/professional services
· Hands-on experience with CPQ tools (Salesforce CPQ or equivalent) — deal configuration, quoting, and proposal or order document production
· Comfort with pricing and margin calculations, and a solid understanding of how deal structure affects both
· Experience working within a commercial approval or governance framework, and respect for why it exists
· Sharp attention to detail — comfortable being the last check before something goes out to a customer
· Ability to manage multiple deals and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Strong Excel skills
· Clear, confident communication — able to explain a pricing or governance requirement to Sales without it feeling like a roadblock
- Understands the business and its challenges, and can translate business needs into HR solutions.
