Innovation Programme Manager | LATAM - PMO
Are you passionate about turning strategy into execution and bringing cross-functional teams together to deliver business-critical initiatives? We are looking for an Innovation Programme Manager to lead selected innovation and maintenance projects across the consumer healthcare portfolio. You will create structure in complex environments, connect functional plans into one integrated delivery roadmap and help teams make timely, fact-based decisions.
In this role, you will partner closely with the Project Accountable Lead (Mkt) and stakeholders across R&D, Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory and local markets. Curiosity and category market understanding are key for PM to deliver fit for purpose and agile Innovations. You will manage scope, timelines, risks, resources, budget, KPIs and governance, while maintaining accurate project information and supporting gate readiness, portfolio visibility and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
Project leadership and delivery
· Lead selected strategic, cross-functional innovation and maintenance projects, including new product development, product renovation, packaging changes, new claims, visual brand upgrades and key process improvements.
· Understand and own brand strategy in partnership with Marketing to aggregate to project scope and guide the team to the best scenario for the consumer and business.
· Partner with the Category to translate business objectives into a clear project strategy, scope, delivery plan and decision roadmap.
· Build and mobilize effective cross-functional project teams, clarifying roles, deliverables, dependencies and resource requirements.
· Develop and maintain integrated project timelines in the portfolio and project management system, incorporating functional deliverables and local market launch activities.
· Drive timely decision-making, transparent stakeholder communication and strong execution discipline across the project lifecycle.
· Manage project risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, ensuring mitigation and contingency plans are in place and actively tracked.
· Monitor critical milestones, budget and spend forecasts, escalating material variances or changes to the approved business case through the appropriate governance process.
Governance, data and portfolio support
· Co-drive gate readiness with the Category Lead, ensuring required inputs are complete, decisions are clearly documented and agreed actions are implemented.
· Maintain accurate, timely and decision-useful project information in the portfolio and project management system, working closely with cross-functional data owners.
· Support probability-of-success assessments and category portfolio analysis to provide visibility of pipeline sustainability, risks and delivery confidence.
· Manage projects risks and mitigation plans proactively.
· For selected markets, coordinate country-level launch details and alignment with General Managers and relevant local stakeholders.
· Capture and share lessons learned, enabling reuse of best practices across teams and projects.
· Contribute to innovation process improvements, ideation activities and project management capability building across the organization.
Leadership and ways of working
· Role model Haleon culture and foster an environment of accountability, inclusion, teamwork and recognition.
· Influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders without direct authority, using sound judgment, negotiation and constructive challenge.
· Help resolve team conflicts through diplomacy and fact-based discussion, escalating to accountable functional leaders when required.
· Act as an advisor and mentor to more junior colleagues, sharing project management practices and practical experience.
Why you?
Basic qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering or a related discipline.
· At least 5 years of relevant experience across Project Management, Portfolio Management, Supply Chain, Strategy or R&D in consumer healthcare or a related industry such as consumer-packaged goods or pharmaceuticals.
· Practical experience leading cross-functional projects in complex, matrixed organizations.
· Strong analytical, insight generation, strategic planning, risk management and problem-solving capabilities.
· Ability to operate effectively in situations characterized by ambiguity, complexity and uncertainty.
· Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
· Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred qualifications
· Project management experience within cosmetic, food, consumer goods or similar project environments.
· Experience with stage-gate governance, new product development, product renovation or market launch execution.
· Working knowledge of the key business processes and functions of a multinational healthcare or consumer goods company.
· Experience using portfolio and project management systems to manage timelines, milestones, risks and project data.
· Project management certification or formal training.
· Professional proficiency in Spanish, English and/or Portuguese.
