We are currently hiring Early Childhood Assistants (ECAs) to support licensed childcare centres located within Toronto's M6 and M9 postal code areas .
As an ECA with Sentient HR, you will work alongside childcare teams to provide safe, responsive, and engaging care for children from infant to school age. This opportunity is well suited to educators who enjoy flexibility, working with different centre teams, and building experience within licensed childcare.

Responsibilities
- Support educators with daily programming, routines, and activities
- Promote the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being of children
- Provide active supervision and prioritize children's health and safety
- Participate with children in developmentally appropriate activities
- Support classroom routines including meals, transitions, outdoor play, rest periods, and learning activities
- Follow centre policies, Sentient HR requirements, public health requirements, and the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
- Foster positive and professional relationships with children, families, and centre staff
- Work cooperatively as part of the childcare team
- Report concerns in accordance with centre procedures
- Perform other childcare-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children is preferred
- Childcare, education, recreation, camp, or related experience is an asset
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check within the required timeframe
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C
- Familiarity with licensed childcare environments and the CCEYA is an asset
- Dependable, professional, and comfortable working in different childcare environments
- Ability to reliably travel to childcare centres within Toronto's M6 and/or M9 postal code areas
Working Conditions
- Occasional light to medium physical effort, including lifting, bending, and stooping
- Ability to participate actively in children's indoor and outdoor programming
- Must be able to work outdoors throughout the year
