Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Analyst II (BIA-II) is responsible for delivering enterprise business intelligence and analytics solutions that enable our business partners to meet our organizational mission. This position consults with stakeholders and business leaders to manage a product roadmap for a team of analysts, developers, administrators, and architects. The BIA-II develops, configures, maintains, and supports data and analytics solutions in a variety of applications, especially Microsoft and Epic Cogito. The BIA-II supports the advancement of data driven decision making by assisting in the building of organizational capabilities in data management, data quality improvement, data visualization, and self-service analytics.

- Works with stakeholders to help them understand what metrics and analysis will offer the insights they want as well as offer guidance regarding the direction of analytics strategy
- Manages individual work load and work effectively on multiple assignments, activities, or projects in a fast pace changing environment.
- Intake new development requests from organizational leaders, evaluating if needs can be meet with existing tools or new products.
- Manage a data, BI, and analytics asset catalogue to document and manage current capabilities of end users.
- Lead stakeholders through design sessions for new metrics, dashboards, data sets, and/or analytical models regarding their line of business. Serve as a liaison between business users and developers to ensure data solution meets business need.
- Manage a process for identifying and resolving data quality issues in collaboration with end users, application teams, and organizational leadership.
- Design, configure, and maintain self-service data sets, often in Epic Cogito SlicerDicer or Microsoft PowerBI, to enable analyst and developer teams embedded in business units to meet data needs.
- Complete system configuration and access management tasks for Epic Radar dashboards, Radar metrics, Cogito SQL, user security, SlicerDicer, and other reporting applications.
- Complete testing and lead end users through validation to ensure high quality data solutions are delivered to customers.
- Lead end user adoption activities, end user training sessions, and communities of practice for analysts and developers embedded in business units.
- Manage upgrade tasks for major upgrades of analytics tools. Mentor Business Intelligence Analyst Is.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives that will enable the team work more efficiently. Work effectively on multiple assignments at once and collaborate with team members on projects.
- Work independently to fulfill job duties.
- Assesses, captures, and translates complex business issues and requirements into a structured analytics use case. Maintains tight alignment between analytics and business issues and is able to meaningfully communicate insights.
- Works with the business intelligence development team to build analytics solutions using the right tool at the right place for the right audience and will create comprehensive documentation of solutions and underlying design and associated decisions.
- Considers current state solutions and products as well as new development capabilities when assessing business needs.
- Designs analytical dashboards that provide stakeholders with at-a-glance insight regarding their line of business.
- Serves as an advocate for the role of data as a key organizational asset, enabling the effective use of existing resources and catalyzing innovative thinking.
- Performs gap analyses that identify opportunities for product improvement and validation that ensures continued customer success.
- Builds organizational capabilities in data management, reporting, ad hoc analytics, and advanced analytics in support of organizational strategies and goals.

Qualifications:

- Experience with any of the major Business Intelligence reporting tools, such as BusinessObjects, Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView, Cognos, or Microstrategy.
- Experience with Epic Cogito Clarity and Caboodle databases.
- Experience with Epic Cogito Tools Administration.
- Experience in healthcare, analytics, informatics, or related field.
- Relevant academic experience and work experience in statistics, with exposure to data structures and data visualization.
- Experience designing simulation, optimization, and predictive models used in business decisions.
- Clinical or healthcare background and/or experience with Epic software.
- Epic Data Model Certification required within 9 months of hire.
- While this position is remote, we’re only able to hire candidates who reside in Georgia , Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, South Carolina, Michigan, or Colorado.
