At Franciscan, our Medical Assistants are critical for supporting a variety of clinical duties for multiple clinics. This role assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, executing physician orders for lab testing, entering information in electronic medical record system, and functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Sign-On Bonus Available (ask your Talent Acquisition Advisor about eligibility)
- Outpatient Behavioral Health clinic providing psychiatric care, therapy services, and care coordination
- Clinic hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Rotating shifts within clinic operating hours
- Room patients, obtain vitals and medical histories, perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing, and administer medications as directed
- Document patient care and maintain accurate EMR records
- Process referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, refills, and sample medications
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and healthcare team members in person, by phone, and electronically
- Support high-quality patient care through strong organization, multitasking, and customer service skills
- Maintain patient confidentiality while thriving in a fast-paced clinical environment

QUALIFICATIONS
- Required High School Diploma/GED
- Required Program Medical Assisting
- In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience-Required
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association- within 90 days of hire
- For an MA, you must have one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS)
