Senior Project Manager

Overaa Construction is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Building Group and lead the delivery of complex public and institutional building projects, including essential-service facilities such as police and fire stations, courthouses, correctional facilities, healthcare facilities, and other municipal buildings.

An Overaa Senior Project Manager serves as a senior leader of the project team, responsible for successfully delivering complex projects while developing strong teams and lasting client relationships. The SPM provides leadership from pursuit and preconstruction through closeout, drives project strategy and execution, mentors Project Managers and Project Engineers, and serves as a trusted partner to clients, design teams, trade partners, and internal stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead the successful delivery of complex building projects from preconstruction through closeout.

- Provide leadership and oversight to project teams, including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Field Engineers, Team Coordinators, and Project Accountants.

- Develop project strategy, establish team priorities, and ensure successful execution of safety, schedule, quality, cost, and contractual requirements.

- Lead owner and client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact and proactively resolving complex project issues.

- Lead project pursuits, including proposal strategy, interviews, estimating coordination, presentations, and preconstruction services.

- Build and maintain strategic relationships with clients, architects, consultants, trade partners, and other industry partners.

- Mentor and develop project team members, creating opportunities for growth and increasing the capabilities of the broader team.

- Participate in business development activities, conferences, tradeshows, community events, and client engagement.

- Promote jobsite safety and encourage safe work practices. Complete all Overaa company safety training as required.

Overall Responsibilities and Authority

- Accountable for the successful delivery of one or more complex projects, including projects and teams in the $30M+ range.

- Lead project risk management, identifying potential issues early and driving strategies to protect the client, project, and company.

- Lead project setup, buyout strategy, procurement, cost control, change management, forecasting, and financial reporting.

- Oversee the master scheduling process in collaboration with Superintendents and trade partners.

- Lead design and constructability coordination and support successful design-build/design-assist delivery.

- Maintain a thorough understanding of owner contracts and ensure contractual rights, obligations, and notice provisions are appropriately managed.

- Lead resolution of complex project challenges and claims while maintaining productive relationships with clients and project partners.

- Develop and maintain strong client relationships that contribute to repeat business and future opportunities.

- Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability to project teams while developing future Project Managers and project leaders.

- Successfully close out projects while protecting Overaa’s financial, contractual, and client relationship objectives.

- Reports to Project Executive.

Qualifications

- 10+ years of relevant commercial construction experience, with progressive responsibility managing complex projects and project teams.

- Demonstrated experience successfully leading large and complex commercial, public, or institutional building projects.

- Strong experience with preconstruction, project planning, buyout, cost management, scheduling, change management, contract administration, and closeout.

- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other project staff.

- Experience developing and maintaining client relationships and participating in project pursuits and business development.

- Design-build/design-assist experience strongly preferred.

- Experience with essential-service, civic, municipal, healthcare, education, or other complex institutional facilities is preferred.

- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field preferred.

- Knowledge of Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Primavera, Navisworks, Microsoft Project, and Viewpoint is a plus.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively lead diverse teams and stakeholders.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $175,000 to $210,000 per year . This does not include bonus compensation or other benefits such as health, disability, life, retirement, or other benefits which may impact total compensation. The actual offered salary to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to skill set, experience, education, qualifications, and location. This salary range is subject to future modification.
