About this role
Support the General Manager in the daily operation and upkeep of Ucluelet Co-op facilities and properties. Coordinate maintenance, repairs, contractors, property records, and staff accommodation matters so sites remain safe, functional, and well maintained. Guide the Maintenance Technician and work with department leaders to resolve operational issues, plan preventive work, and follow through on projects. Support health and safety, environmental requirements, and asset protection as part of sound operations and property management.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day building, site, and operational needs with department leaders and the General Manager.
- Monitor facilities, equipment, common areas, and grounds; identify issues and coordinate timely solutions.
- Serve as Manager on Duty during designated peak periods and support team members with operational and customer concerns.
- Manage maintenance requests, work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs.
- Act as a point of contact for tenants and staff accommodations, including move-ins, move-outs, inspections, and repairs.
- Coordinate contractors and property projects, including quotes, scheduling, site access, and completion.
- Maintain accurate property, maintenance, contractor, inspection, and incident records.
- Support health, safety, environmental compliance, workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and emergency preparedness.
- Coordinate security measures including alarms, CCTV, locks, keys, and loss prevention.
- Support operational planning, budgeting, and reporting, and provide updates to the General Manager.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in business, facilities or property management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years of progressive experience in operations, facilities, maintenance coordination, or property management.
- Experience coordinating and guiding others in a team environment.
- Strong customer service focus with experience monitoring and improving customer satisfaction.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and comfortable learning new technology.
Working Conditions
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
