Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Description
This Registered Nurse role focuses on providing compassionate, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting. You will manage patient charting, triage incoming calls, assist with cleaning and preparing exam rooms, and schedule appointments as needed to support smooth clinical operations and high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient charting, ensuring medical records are accurate, up to date, and complete.
- Triage incoming patient calls by assessing symptoms, prioritizing needs, and providing appropriate clinical guidance or escalation.
- Assist with cleaning, organizing, and preparing exam rooms before and after patient visits to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments as needed to support provider schedules and patient flow.
- Use electronic medical record systems, including Epic, to document patient encounters and access relevant clinical information.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to deliver coordinated, compassionate care.
- Support patients and their families by answering questions, providing education, and helping them navigate their care plans.
- Contribute to a well-organized, team-oriented operation by following established workflows and procedures.
- Participate in maintaining high patient retention by building trusting, long-term patient relationships.
- Uphold standards of professional nursing practice and comply with all relevant clinical policies and regulations.
Essential Skills
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Demonstrated ability to triage patient calls and assess clinical urgency.
- Proficiency in patient charting and documentation within medical record systems.
- Experience using Epic or similar electronic medical record platforms.
- Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail in outpatient care settings.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a busy clinical environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Oncology nursing experience is a plus but not required.
- Comfort working in a long-term, relationship-based care environment.
- Interest in mentoring, learning, and contributing to a supportive team culture.

Work Environment
This position is based in an outpatient office setting with regular Monday through Friday hours, typically 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with most clinical work finishing around 5:00 p.m. and remaining time devoted to charting and completing documentation. The environment is team-oriented, well organized, and operates with efficient, established workflows. Staff work closely together, support one another, and foster a welcoming atmosphere where patients often feel at home and return for ongoing care. You will use modern electronic medical record systems such as Epic and standard clinical equipment appropriate for an outpatient practice. Professional clinical attire is expected to maintain a respectful and safe patient care environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Little Silver, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $49.00 - $53.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
