About this role
GA Telesis is a global leader providing integrated solutions to the aviation and aerospace industries, with a continuously expanding presence in new countries worldwide. We serve over 2,000 customers, including airlines, original equipment manufacturers, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) providers. GA Telesis Ecosystem™ is a vast global network spanning 54 locations in 30 countries on six continents. At GA Telesis, our core business is integrated aviation solutions, and our mission is customer success.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, integrate, and support secure enterprise applications while serving as a practical technical leader for junior and mid-level engineers. This role spans modern web development, Oracle database administration, ERP technical ownership, API engineering, AI-enabled automation, production troubleshooting, and engineering standards.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer, the successful candidate should be comfortable working in a mixed technology environment, owning the Oracle database layer that underpins Quantum Control ERP, learning aviation MRO workflows, and converting complex business requirements into reliable, auditable solutions — while actively growing the people around them.
This role is based on-site in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and is a hands-on individual-contributor role with significant mentorship and technical-lead responsibilities.
**Important Notice :
Eligibility Requirement : Only U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents will be considered for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support business-critical applications used across MRO, inventory, sales, procurement, finance, logistics, and customer-facing operations.
- Own the full application lifecycle — from requirements to production — with clear documentation, robust error handling, and sustainable architecture.
- Modern Web Architecture
- Build maintainable user experiences using JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern framework such as React, with reusable components, clear repository organization, documented interfaces, and consistent design patterns.
- Apply front-end best practices: accessibility, responsive design, state management, and performance optimization.
- API & Integration Engineering
- Develop secure REST APIs and service layers that connect Quantum Control ERP, Oracle databases, DocuWare, ILS, Aeroxchange, Smart145 ERP, Salesforce, and other enterprise platforms.
- Support both read and controlled write-back workflows; apply authentication, versioning, validation, idempotency, logging, and secure error-handling patterns throughout.
- Design integrations for long-term maintainability — reducing one-off connections in favor of reusable, documented enterprise services.
Oracle Database & PL/SQL Development
- Create and optimize SQL, PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, views, and transactional logic supporting application business rules and ERP data integrity.
- Apply least-privilege access, schema separation, controlled migrations, index strategies, execution plan analysis, and AWR/ASH performance tuning.
- Administer the Oracle Database instances underpinning Quantum Control ERP: instance management, user and schema administration, tablespace and storage management, backup and recovery, patching, and environment management across dev, QA, and production.
Oracle APEX
- Enhance and support Oracle APEX applications — Dynamic Actions, Interactive Grids, Shared Components, security schemes, ORDS services, and APEX Office Print workflows — where APEX is the best-fit platform.
- Build new APEX pages and components that integrate cleanly with the Oracle database layer and enterprise REST services.
Quantum Control ERP — Technical Ownership
- Serve as the technical IT owner of Quantum Control ERP: troubleshoot application-layer errors, manage configuration, coordinate with Quantum support on escalated issues, and own ERP data integrity.
- Partner with MRO, FSG, finance, and procurement business teams to translate ERP workflow requirements into database schema changes, stored procedures, or configuration updates.
- Maintain clear documentation of the Oracle DB architecture, schema design, user roles, and ERP configuration to support business continuity.
AI-Enabled Automation & Document Extraction
- Build production-grade document extraction and workflow automation using LLM APIs (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic), OCR, structured outputs, vector search, RAG pipelines, confidence scoring, human-in-the-loop validation, and auditable exception handling.
- Design extraction pipelines for aviation records — 8130 airworthiness certificates, repair orders, PO invoices, parts traceability records — writing structured results into Oracle and Quantum ERP.
- Collaborate with external AI delivery partners (SZNS Solutions) and leverage Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Vertex AI, Cloud Storage) to build reliable, scalable AI workflows.
- Assist in leveraging Oracle AI Vector Search and Oracle 23ai generative AI features as they mature within the Oracle stack.
Production Ownership & Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot incidents across application, API, database, and integration layers; perform root-cause analysis; improve observability; and deliver sustainable fixes rather than one-time workarounds.
- Own the Oracle DB environment across dev, QA, and production — managing patching, upgrades, and environment refreshes in coordination with IT leadership.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, and runbook practices that reduce mean time to detection and resolution.
- Technical Mentorship & Team Leadership
- Coach junior and mid-level engineers through structured code reviews, pair programming, design sessions, debugging walkthroughs, and knowledge transfer — helping teammates understand not just what to build, but why a design is safe, maintainable, and appropriate.
- Set and model engineering standards: source control discipline, branching strategy, pull request quality, testing practices, security hygiene, documentation, and deployment controls.
- Lead technical design discussions for new features and integrations; help the team reason through architectural trade-offs and build lasting judgment.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning — sharing knowledge of Oracle, AI/LLM, and integration patterns through documentation, internal sessions, and example.
- Provide IT leadership with honest input on team capability, technical skill gaps, and development priorities.
Stakeholder Partnership
- Work directly with business leaders, end users, vendors, infrastructure, security, and data teams to clarify requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders; bridge the gap between IT and business without losing accuracy.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field — or equivalent relevant experience.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, including direct ownership of production applications and complex integrations.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers, leading code reviews, improving engineering practices, and guiding technical design decisions.

- Strong SQL and PL/SQL writing skills: packages, procedures, functions, cursors, exception handling, and transactional logic.
- Familiarity with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) for building and consuming database-native REST APIs.
ERP Technical Ownership
- Hands-on experience administering or technically owning an enterprise ERP system (Quantum Control, SAP, Oracle EBS, Syspro, or equivalent) from the IT side — not just as a user.
- Ability to troubleshoot ERP application errors, manage configuration, and liaise with ERP vendors on escalated technical issues.
- Experience translating business workflow requirements into ERP configuration changes, database schema updates, or stored procedure logic.
Modern Web & API Engineering
- Strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills and production experience with a modern web framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
