As a Speech and Language Pathologist at The Pinnacle School, you will provide high-quality, data-driven services to students with complex learning profiles and co-occurring needs. You will differentiate sessions and interventions based on each student’s learning style and current achievement level while collaborating with teachers, clinicians, families, and school districts to support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
What You’ll Need
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid Connecticut state and school licensure as a Speech and Language Pathologist (061), or eligibility to obtain the required licensure
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) through ASHA preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a school setting working with special education students with language-based learning differences
- Familiarity with the IEP process and collection of progress-monitoring data
- Ability to create and maintain an organized and supportive learning environment that considers students’ social, emotional, and executive-functioning needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A flexible, patient, collaborative, and enthusiastic approach suited to a small-team environment
- Commitment to helping students of all abilities reach their full potential
What You’ll Do
- Differentiate sessions, interventions, and curriculum to support students’ learning styles, individual needs, and current achievement levels
- Develop, implement, and monitor speech and language goals as part of each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Collect, analyze, and maintain progress-monitoring data to evaluate student growth and inform clinical decisions
- Collaborate with teachers, clinicians, families, and school districts to support students’ academic, social, emotional, and communication development
- Maintain open and positive communication with students, families, and colleagues regarding student progress
- Adapt plans and interventions based on observations, student data, and changing needs
- Build positive relationships with students while providing structured, individualized support
- Participate in team meetings, clinical consultation, professional development, and other school-based activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and consistently meet required deadlines
