What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will have solid MIG and TIG welding experience and enjoy working independently. Second shift hours are Monday through Friday, 2 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Work with management to establish the priorities for each day of shipping, judging which orders to wrap first.
- Perform set-up and adjustment of a mechanical wrapping machine with minimal supervision.
- Operate a mechanical wrapping machine to secure and prepare completed products for shipping.
- Operate an industrial lift truck (forklift) to load trucks, ensuring proper load and weight distribution.
- Ensure orders are kept separate and wrapped according to specific customer requirements.
- Verify quantities and pin stamps match part labels.
- Interact/communicate with truck drivers regarding the loading of their trucks.
- Work as part of a team in the shipping/receiving function.
- Maintain working knowledge of product lines and the ability to differentiate between similar products.
- Perform material handling tasks, as needed, including, but not limited to:
- Unload incoming raw materials and supplies safely and efficiently using a variety of material handling equipment. Check incoming raw materials and supplies against supplier paperwork for accuracy, report discrepancies at time of unloading for resolution and takes materials and supplies to appropriate storage locations.
- Fill cardboard stock and pallet stacks.
- Collect and dispose of garbage from the shop floor and lunchrooms.
- Remove scrap from production departments and dispose of in designated containers.
- Perform other tasks as requested by Team Leader/Supervisor/Management.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

- Experience setting up and operating a power pallet wrapper.
- Experience operating an industrial lift truck (forklift).
- Knowledge of truck loading procedures and weight distribution techniques.

Physical Demands

- The ability to stand and/or walk on concrete for up to eight (8) hours per day.
- Manual Dexterity: The ability to use hands to manipulate objects (i.e. set-up pallet wrapper, tie off plastic wrap, etc.).
- Quality Assurance: The ability to perform visual inspection of product prior to shipment and upon receipt to identify shipping damage and to ensure quality standards.
- The ability to work in typical Wisconsin levels of heat and humidity.
- Ability to lift twenty (20) to fifty-five (55) pounds for up to eight (8) hours per day.
- Ability to bend and lift twenty (20) to fifty-five (55) pounds between floor level and a height of six feet six inches (6'6").
- Ability to pull or push up to 1100 pounds with motorized pallet jack.
- Ability to work independently and determine priorities.
