Role and Responsibilities
Position Overview
The Director, Category Management (Buds and Cases) will drive the launch process, promotional plan and channel strategy for the Buds and Cases categories. This role plays a critical function in the launch process by coordinating activities between the Product Strategy team and all other teams crucial to product launch and throughout the product lifecycle and toward achieving our growth and revenue targets. We’re looking for a sharp, results-oriented go-getter who does whatever it takes to get the job done on time.
Role and Responsibilities
· Lead a team of Category Managers
· Develop comprehensive strategy for product launches into our national retail and mobile carrier partners, including communication of new product specifications, schedules and targets to Channel Sales and Marketing teams
· Lead interaction with sales teams to sell in new mobile enhancements products by providing category insights, sell in preparation materials as well as launch actives and promotional strategy
· Serve as control tower by partnering with Marketing and channel leads to develop comprehensive marketing and launch strategies, including: channel marketing programs, investment strategy, and messaging to bring product vision to life
· Work cross-functionally with SEA Mobile Enhancement Business Operations and Channel Sales Teams to capture and load product forecasts and purchase orders
· Manage promotional calendar and pricing communications and reporting of sell through and promotional performance
· Perform competitive intelligence periodic reports, produce in-depth analysis of gaps/opportunities, Voice of the Customer (VOC), and take corrective actions
· Development of slides, reports and presentations for use in internal meetings and reporting
· Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all assigned levels within and outside the company
· Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments and projects
· Review detailed product development, marketing documents and media materials as needed
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelors required and 12+ years of experience in product management or channel sales operations
· Strong leadership skills and a track record of being a proven people manager
· Effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external personnel at various levels
· Strong written, visual, and verbal presentation skills are required, as the role involves both internal and external presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence strategic decisions and product decisions is required.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate and defend opinions based on data and structured analysis
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree or MBA and 10+ years of relevant experience is preferred
· Experience in the Wearables, Audio, Power, Mobile Phone Accessory space is strongly preferred
· Experience working with a geographically distributed team a plus
